My copy just arrived: Fredric Jameson's posthumous companion volume to "The Years of Theory," here addressing postwar German thought. Thanks (and congratulations) to editor Carson Welch for putting this together so marvelously. versobooks.com/products/3533…

I understand why people get frustrated by the media disproportionately covering elite schools. But where the elites go, the rest follow. And Harvard leadership now openly encouraging AI use in writing-intensive courses is a very scary coal-mine canary for higher ed writ large.
Here’s the relevant part of the Harvard dean’s email, in which he suggests (“modestly”) that professors teaching writing intensive courses should encourage AI use. And of course this gets dressed up in woke moralizing about policing students and damaging “trust.” End times stuff.

I told my wife about @Tyler_A_Harper's "Miller Lite is the thinking person's beer" line, and she said: "It's the beer to drink when you just want one, but you don't know *which* one!" (As in, maybe its the 4th or 7th one, but you'll get there. 😀)
