Years in the making, and with a final push by then US Rep for Nevada Harry Reid, President Ronald Reagan signed the Great Basin National Park Act of 1986 on Oct 27, 1986. The park incorporates Wheeler Peak and the Lehman Caves National Monument. bit.ly/SNGCB1

Great article by @RickMcCann01 lasvegassun.com/news/2026/ju… Crypto laws should protect consumers, not politicians' profits. The CLARITY Act must include real ethics provisions, stronger anti-fraud protections & rules that put the public ahead of special interests @SenCortezMasto
Guest column: Senators must amend weak crypto law that will undermine Nevada’s public safety

Guest column: Senators must amend weak crypto law that will undermine Nevada’s public safety

The cryptocurrency market structure bill moving through Congress fails to meet the needs of law enforcement personnel as they focus on fighting criminal activity that victimizes Nevadans.

With our many law enforcement partners, @MCSheriffs signed a letter sent to Congress asking for cUAS authority for state and local law enforcement. Drones are being used in nefarious ways in our communities each day and we need the capability to safely mitigate them.
