Near Paris, 6,500 years ago, Neolithic people buried their dead. Archaeologists have just discovered the cemetery, which consists of 11 graves, 30 megaliths, and a human-shaped monolith called a menhir—that weighs more than 20,000 pounds. archaeology.org/news/2026/11…

Breaking News! Code UFB!!! The preliminary global sea-surface temperature for November 4th was more than 7.5 standard deviations above the 1982-2011 mean. In "normal times" the odds of this would be about 33,000,000,000,000-to-1 against. Next up, 8σ?

Anyone arrested for no reason—left in jail all weekend—then released without charges—knows this is 🐂💩 coming from the Toronto Police Gang. Anyone assaulted by police— then charged with resisting arrest—when they were not under arrest—knows this is 🐂💩. Make 👮🏻‍♂️🐂💩 illegal.
We want to address some confusion surrounding the investigation into the home invasion in the Bridle Path neighbourhood. Investigators immediately recognized the potential connection between the home invasion and the individual who showed up at hospital with a gunshot wound. But recognizing a potential suspect and having enough evidence to arrest them are two different things. Suspicion alone isn’t enough. Police need reasonable grounds, supported by evidence, to make an arrest. We will continue to gather evidence and will go where the evidence takes us. We are grateful for the professionalism, tenacity and commitment of our investigators who continue this work. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: finding the outstanding suspects and holding those responsible for this violent home invasion accountable.

It's pretty shocking to learn today that the Toronto Police Hate Crimes Unit is investigating bike lane protesters. And that those protesters have been hit with restrictive release conditions banning them from virtually all protest. I am glad the @cjc_TO is on the case!

I feel I have to apologise for the amount of times I’ve used the word “cunt” over the past 24 hours. In my defence it was predicated by a number of cunts being cunty.

Did you know? An explosion of zinc fireworks occurs when a human egg is activated by a sperm enzyme, and the size of these “sparks” is a direct measure of its ability to develop into an embryo. In other words, life begins with a flash of light.

This Roman bronze figurine, known as the ‘Little Man of the Treveri’, wears clothing popular in the Moselle region some 2,000 years ago. His hooded cloak protected against cold, wind, and rain. A charming glimpse of everyday life in Roman times! Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier 📷 by me #FindsFriday #Archaeology

The menhir of La Pierre Fiche in Artannes-sur-Thouet (Maine-et-Loire) is 4.5m tall. In tradition it was a piece of grit from the clog of either St-Christophe or St-Antoine. Card by a bookseller Dézé c.1915.
