The algorithm doesn’t decide what is quality. It decides what gets amplified. What actually drives engagement is recycled shock value, exaggerated half-truths, memes, and sex. Those reliably trigger attention, outrage, or desire, so the system pushes them. Quality content often doesn’t, so it gets buried. Engagement is not the same as value.
