For this year's @OcTBRChallenge I'm going to focus on books and audiobooks that are either in French or translated from it. So my Bob Morane novels and comics, everything on @izneoBD, my Maigret audiobooks, maybe some plays. Should be fun.
I couldn't help chuckling sometimes because the narrator sounded so much like Avon's angry muttering in Blake's 7. But the performances were terrific and overall it affected me more than I'd like: I loathed the narrator's angst at first, but by the end was rather infected by it.
33. Il était une fois… l'homme, v.1: La préhistoire by Gaudin, Barbaud and Minte. I remember watching the cartoon this adapts when I was little. It tells the story of prehistoric man, conveying well the huge time scales involved. Vocab: un raccourci = a shortcut. #OcTBRChallenge
I've been waiting all week to watch the apology video again and it had me in stitches again, but watching it on tv cannot possibly compare to being in a packed cinema as everyone reacts to each new face that appears.

Villeneuve hasn't cast many male British actors in his films and Daniel Kaluuya is one of them.
But I doubt that whoever leaked the other names would care that much about sparing anyone the vitriol.
One source speculated that the mystery actor testing for 007 is an actor of color whose name is being withheld to spare him the inevitable racist vitriol that would be unleashed online — vitriol that may not be worth it unless he ultimately lands the role.

Douglas Ogurek reviews the horror anthology Blood Bank: "If all the other stories tanked – they didn’t – this story would still make the anthology worth it. That’s how good it is."

Maybe but it also lists every film on all the services you currently subscribe to and lets you filter out those you've already seen. And when a friend comes over you can filter their watchlist to the films you've got. I couldn't really care less about other people's reviews.
That's pretty much how I wrote my first novel, 9 to 5, 1000 words an hour, for a week. The crucial difference being that people actually wanted to read her books. 😄
Thought the new Ali G film was excellent. Shows how far nutters on the left and the right will go given the slightest excuse and somehow makes it hilarious rather than profoundly depressing. A rowdy audience loved it except one guy who left in the middle, shouting.
When did Josh O’Connor enter the mix? And why??
At least four test offers for the role to play James Bond have been given out and while unconfirmed, insiders tell Deadline that three of the four actors expected to test are Jack Lowden, Callum Turner and Josh O’Connor.

Jack O'Connell would make infinitely more sense. Maybe that's where people are getting Josh O'Connor, mixing them up? O'Connell would be perfect, possibly the best Bond yet, even if this article (despite showing his photo) says he's not in the running.
