Billie Burke appreciation post for getting drunk with Clark Gable and delivering in the most delightfully squiffy way, "But I seem to have had an entirely erroneous impression of you newspapermen" After Office Hours (1935). 🎬

There's no such thing as a "defensive strike" when you're illegally attacking another country.

Imagine if Iran started bombing New York's Long Island. Would any media outlet in the world describe it is "defensive in nature"?

** Clark Gable makes a rare visit to the set of The Gay Bride (1934) to see his platonic friends, Carole Lombard and Jack Conway.
Carole Lombard makes a rare visit to the set of “Gone With the Wind” (1939), to visit lover Clark Gable. Gable only took the part of Rhett Butler to pay for his divorce to wife, Ria. Vivien Leigh was infuriated by Carole’s unexpected appearance. David Selznick had told her to stay away from Laurence Olivier during filming, as the American press disapproved of their very public, illicit relationship. Eventually she broke down, and the producer allowed her a weekend with her beau. When a radiant Leigh returned, Selznick asked how it had gone. Vivien replied, “It was wonderful. We f……and we f……and we f……!”
