I am sad to hear the studio is closing as it was full of talented devs. The higher ups trying to force games that had "lost the plot" never helped. This is the sad state of the Western side of gaming. Companies keep trying to make games for the wrong audience and have forgotten what it means to make games with passion and for the fans of their series. They forget what made us love these games in the first place. Naughty Dog, Gear Box and Santa monica will most likely be following this. Not soon but I wouldn't be surprised to see a notice from them too in the future. I don't want to, but if they do not learn. I sincerely hope the studios that remain realize what is going on and change before it's too late. Pouring hundred of millions of dollars into games only for them to be "ok" at best won't help them at least break even. Sucks to hear BioWare. I loved the Mass Effect Trilogy as it was so goated. Thanks for the memories in that regard.

Just saw the did you know gaming about a Metroid table top game. Guys… samus with black hair is doing something to me. Also that Varia suit is sick #metroid

They will not. If this is your first game in the series, some might find it ok. If this isn’t then it’s clear why this is the weakest entry in the series bar none. And yes. I’m including federation force and pinball. If a pinball game brought me more fun and engagement than this, something is wrong. The story was ruined as Bandai made Sylux a random nobody. He went from potentially being close to Samus and an interesting villain to the thanos “you took everything from me!” “I don’t even know who you are” meme. The desert was heavily underutilized. The game was more hand holdy than any other in the series and more linear to boot. Music was bland. The bike was cool but also heavily underutilized. The NPCs were mostly all bland and annoying. The giant robot was based and cool though. Also the mandatory green crystals were a huge time sink and just passing on an otherwise very short game. Once people play more Metroid games this game will not be considered a classic retroactively but rather a blueprint on how to never design a Metroid game and why you don’t hate Bandai namco enough.

This was one of the very few times a character showed up and my stomach went upside down and my heart stopped. This guy was hyped up as a heartless and when he finally showed up I felt what the MCs felt. One of the best intros for an antagonist.
