You have one week left to comment on trump's proposed changes to the ESA. Currently, destroying a species' habitat is regarded as harming said species. Under the new definition, destroying habitat will no longer qualify as take.

So, now trump wants to get rid of habitat protections under the ESA. Without these protections, the ESA is pretty much useless. This ESA protection has been upheld by the Supreme Court in the past. The public comment period is open for this.

Despite the fear mongering headline, this was a pretty good article on rattlesnake parental behavior (although it could have went into greater depth). I always enjoy seeing a positive snake article. And there's a pretty timber rattlesnake in the preview.
