From building Airbills to building Root, the journey has always been about one thing: making on-chain finance feel simpler, more useful, and more connected to everyday life.

At @RootsWallet, we’re exploring a simple but important question: what would it take for crypto to become a practical part of everyday life, rather than something people only interact with inside crypto-native platforms?
We’ve spent years building @airbillspay, where we’ve processed over ₦65M in bill payments through a website. That experience gave us a closer look at the gap between owning digital assets and actually being able to use them in the real world.
People shouldn’t need to understand blockchain infrastructure, navigate multiple applications, or figure out complicated payment flows just to get value from their assets.
That insight is shaping what we’re building with Root.
Our vision is to make Root a self-custodial wallet where trading, payments, and crypto checkout come together in one experience. We’re working toward a future where users can interact with financial services across the internet, pay for everyday needs, and use their digital assets beyond the boundaries of crypto-native applications.

On my flight to @SuperteamNG Startup Village Nigeria 3.0 in Abuja, something hit me: an airplane’s main solution is speed getting from one point to another faster which brings so much infrastructure and business around it.
That has been our focus from day one. @airbillspay solves blockchain to bills, but we found we can do more, limited by our current Airbills infrastructure.
@RootwalletHQ fills the gap between spending/shopping and stablecoins.
Root Wallet explains crypto faster to non-crypto users through real usage.
