Councillor Ross Garrod, Leader of Merton Council, pays tribute to Paul Strank MBE
“On behalf of Merton Council, I would like to pay tribute to local businessman and tireless champion of our community, Paul Strank MBE, who has sadly passed away. “Paul dedicated much of his life to helping others. For decades, he raised money and gave his time to charities and good causes, including BBC Children in Need, Shooting Star Children’s Hospices and the Mayor of Merton’s charities. He was also a longstanding sponsor of AFC Wimbledon. “Through the Paul Strank Charitable Trust, he supported disadvantaged children and families, making a difference to the lives of so many. “Paul’s contribution was recognised in 2013 when he was awarded an MBE for services to charity and the community in Wimbledon. “My thoughts are with his family, friends and all those who knew him.”

The 93, 163, 164, 80, 154, and 470 bus routes have all been retendered as expected - but they were never at risk in the first place! We think residents are well overdue an apology from the @mertonlibdems for creating false rumours and scaremongering the local community.
