💳 A flawless collection day can still lose money at the last step: getting paid.
Hand-built invoices, mailed checks, and a billing team rekeying payments into a separate system slow down cash flow for a lot of operations.
Purpose-built payment solutions connect billing, invoicing and collection in one platform:
✅ Customers pay online by card or ACH, or set up auto-pay
✅ Automatic reminders and statements by email, SMS and voice
✅ Payments flow straight back into your billing and reporting
✅ A PCI DSS-compliant processor handles the card data

🚛 Clearwater’s Solid Waste team is putting Routeware to work.
The City of Clearwater, FL recently shared how its Solid Waste and Recycling Department is using Routeware to improve collection operations and deliver more efficient service to residents.
With in-cab tablets for digital route management, real-time vehicle tracking, centralized issue reporting, and onboard camera footage, the team now has greater visibility into daily operations. That means faster, better-informed responses when residents have questions, including confirming whether a collection was completed.
Over time, the data will help drive planning and continuous improvement, building a stronger foundation for safe, efficient, and cost-effective service.
Thank you to the @MyClearwater team for the partnership and for sharing the story. 👏

A customer calls: "Why wasn't my container emptied this morning?" 🚛
With a generic CRM, your rep knows who the customer is but has no idea where the truck is. So it's hold music, a call to dispatch, a radio to the driver, and a lot of phone tag. A CRM built for waste haulers connects accounts, billing, and dispatch to live driver data, so the answer is right there on one screen.
Here's why generic CRMs fall short: hubs.ly/Q04z2hyL0
With medical waste, "we picked it up" isn't enough. You have to prove what was collected, where it came from, who signed for it, and where it ended up. 📋
If your chain of custody still relies on paper manifests and spreadsheets, one missing signature can turn an audit into a headache. Our guide to regulated medical waste software covers how going digital gives you audit-ready records, billing that matches what happened in the field, and fewer wasted miles.

A college campus is basically a small city: dorms, dining halls, labs, athletic venues, and a population that swells and empties with the school year. Add move-in and move-out chaos, and waste questions pile up fast. 🎓
ReCollect gives students and staff a simple way to check pickup times, search "mini fridge" or "batteries" for disposal instructions, and request special pickups from their phones. The University of Michigan's version serves 60,000+ people and became one of its most-visited resources.

Quick quiz: does a pizza box go in the recycling or the compost? 🍕
If you hesitated, you're not alone. Most recycling contamination comes from people guessing at the bin. Routeware's Waste Wizard fixes that by answering the question right when someone's holding the item. Type in "pizza box" (or even misspell it) and you get local rules for your area, plus nearby drop-off spots for the trickier stuff.

New Webinar: The Latest Enhancements in Medical Waste and Shredding Operations
Medical waste and shredding companies deal with more paperwork than most haulers. Manifests have to be right, containers have to reconcile at drop-off, and billing has to match what was actually collected. When that data sits in separate systems, teams end up re-keying it, chasing missing documents, and fixing invoices after the fact.
This on-demand webinar walks through the latest Compliance Publishing enhancements for regulated waste operations. It covers the new CP API, updates to the billing system, and a set of compliance and usability upgrades built from customer feedback.

We had a great time at @SWANA's RCon 💚
Thank you to everyone who came to the booth, and a very special shout out to our incredible customer @StPetersMO - thank you for showing us around your MRF, we had a blast!
How many systems does it take to get one stop from planned to invoiced?
For a lot of haulers the answer is three or four, with manual re-entry between each one. That's slow on a good day, and on a bad day it's a billing error on a roll-off account.
Our new intro webinar on Routeware Elements shows what it looks like when planning, dispatch, service history, and billing live in one platform:
• How the system is structured, from route planning through dispatch into billing
• The Customer Detail screen, where most day-to-day work actually happens
• How invoice cycles are set at the service level, so one location can carry multiple billing cycles at once
• Where the Optimize Route tool takes over on larger routes
• Sending job photos to drivers, adjusting pricing on repairs and on-call lifts, and managing routes day by day
• What a typical onboarding path into Elements looks like

A new subdivision comes online. Participation rates shift. A driver retires and the route gets absorbed. Eventually, these show up in overtime, mileage, and missed-collection complaints.
Most teams respond by rebuilding the whole route structure from scratch. That's a heavy lift for a problem that's usually incremental.
Our latest webinar walks through how SmartCity handles this as continuous maintenance instead of a once-a-year project:
• Redistributing stops to correct imbalances from growth or annexation
• Updating routes for new addresses, closed accounts, and changed service levels without disturbing the rest of the route
• Resequencing stop order to cut backtracking and drive time
• How to tell when a route needs a light rebalance versus a full resequence
• Recurring checkpoints for reviewing route health before the problems reach your overtime budget
Built for route managers, dispatchers, and operations teams.
