A non-story designed as clickbait In no other public organisation is there a requirement to declare membership of private institutions. Yet when they do, police are criticised for it Is there any evidence that membership by any of these officers affected their professionalism?
REVEALED | The number of PSNI officers who are members of ‘notifiable organisations’ such as the loyal orders has been branded “alarming”. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/… belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

An honour to attend today's PSNI attestation on the 25th anniversary of the Patten Commission report. Its implementation has transformed policing in Northern Ireland. Policing is a noble profession, and it was great to meet the young people who are beginning their careers.

The badge of @PoliceServiceNI is a clever amalgamation of the important symbols of our country and our police. The design team and members of the @NIPolicingBoard deserve huge credit for handing the challenge of replacing the cherished crest of the @RUCGCFoundation

On the 25th anniversary of the Northern Ireland Policing Board and the formation of the PSNI, remembering all those officers who made the ultimate sacrifice, and paying tribute to all those who have served, and continue to serve our communities with dedication, courage, and selflessness. Thank you to each and every one of you. A fitting tribute to 25 years of policing and public service in Northern Ireland.

I was there, and I can say without hesitation that the RUC stood on the front line against terrorist organisations that murdered, maimed and terrorised all communities throughout the Troubles. IRA gangs exercised coercive control over communities through intimidation, threats and violence. They carried out thousands of punishment attacks, including kneecappings and savage beatings, leaving many young Catholics permanently crippled, disabled and traumatised. These gangs also kidnapped, tortured and murdered people, including members of the very Catholic communities they claimed to defend. Indeed, historical records demonstrate that republican paramilitaries were responsible for more Catholic deaths during the Troubles than any other category of organisation. By comparison, Malcolm Sutton’s Index of Deaths, published through Ulster University’s CAIN archive, attributes just 55 deaths to the RUC throughout the Troubles, compared with 1,823 attributed to the IRA and 2,058 to republican paramilitary organisations collectively. The RUC deaths must also be examined in their proper context. The recorded circumstances include police operations against armed terrorist organisations, attempted ambushes and other security incidents. Deaths occurring during operational police duties should not automatically be equated with deliberate terrorist murders. Equally, the lawfulness of any particular use of force must be determined by the evidence and circumstances of that case. I served through those years and witnessed firsthand the threats, violence and realities faced by police officers and the communities they were sworn to protect. History must be judged on documented evidence, not selective narratives or political convenience. The facts speak for themselves. Evidence matters, context matters, and historical truth matters.

Northern Ireland has the lowest crime rate anywhere in the UK and is one of the safest regions to live, work and socialise. That's not an accident. It reflects 25 years of dedication from PSNI officers and staff, working alongside communities to keep people safe. #PSNI25

Proud to have served 🪉👑☘️⚖️🔥🌿
Today, we mark 25 years of the Police Service of Northern Ireland. For a quarter of a century, police officers and staff have worked to keep people safe, protect the vulnerable and build confidence in policing. We reflect with pride and look forward with purpose.

Congratulations to the @TheDemocrats Yesterday was a referendum on the dishonesty, corruption, incompetence, narcissism, vandalism and criminality of the Trump administration. He has been rejected in huge numbers. The American people have left him a #LameDuckTrump president.
