Just been to see By Royal Appointment at @ChelmsTheatre. Brilliant trip through the late Queen’s wardrobe from 1969 to 2022 with ‘The Dresser’, ‘The Designer’ and ‘The Milliner’. share.google/d8ulYwc0DxlmvjX…

#OTD 1 year ago. The Duchess of Kent died at Kensington Palace on September 4, 2025, aged 92. I witnessed her funeral in person just last year, I can hardly believe it's been almost a year. Time flies, may The Late Duchess of Kent's soul rest in peace.🙏🏻

I had the pleasure of meeting Lady Rosemary as a child. It was show and tell day at school and a child in my year brought in his grandmother. She told us all about how she got ready for the coronation, she passed around her brooch given to her by Queen Elizabeth.
Currently on display at Blenheim Palace, the gown worn by Lady Rosemary Spencer-Churchill when she was a maid of honour at the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.

In remembering King Harald, I look to the 1979, Country Life Book of Europe’s Royal Families. King Olav was alive. King Harald and Queen Sonja were Crown Prince and Princess and the new King Haakon just a young boy.

King Harald was the closest relative to King Charles of any of the European monarchs.
With the passing of King Harald V of Norway, only FIVE great-grandchildren of King Edward VII of the United Kingdom remain among us. Among them is his elder sister, Princess Astrid—who now stands as the sole surviving foreign royal descendant outside the British Royal Family. 🕊️

For the first time in modern history, Norway has a Dowager Queen. Haakon VII's wife Queen Maud predeceased him. King Olav's wife Crown Princess Martha died before his accession. Queen Sonja is Norway's longest-lived consort. Here is my 2017 post about her. hrhprincesspalace.blogspot.c…
