1/ 🚨 The Netherlands is returning 288 objects from its state collection to Indonesia—an overdue step. Meanwhile, the British Museum clings to stolen #Beninbronzes hiding behind a century-old act. #Colonialism isn’t history if its spoils are still on display. #Repatriation
5/ The Western way of putting artifacts on display for people to poke and prod isn’t universal. Some cultures engage differently—with reverence, spirituality, and sacred respect. It's time to stop pretending Western methods are the global standard. #CulturalUnderstanding
6/ Repatriation isn't just about giving things back; it's about acknowledging different relationships with space, culture, and history. Artifacts aren’t just objects—they’re part of a living culture. We need to honor that, not impose Western ways. #DecolonizeSpaces
