Apep Lord of Chaos

YANGCHEN brought peace to humanity, but the spirits were left with grievances that would haunt the Avatar who came after her. KURUK spent his life fighting the spirits that threatened the world, leaving KYOSHI to inherit a world drowning in political instability. KYOSHI brought order where chaos once ruled, but even the institutions she helped create would eventually become instruments of corruption. ROKU had the power to stop a rising empire, but friendship held his hand when the world needed him to act. A hundred years of war followed. AANG ended that war and gave the world a chance to rebuild, yet peace brought new divisions, inequality and conflicts he couldn’t have anticipated. KORRA fought to restore balance, defeated threats that could have destroyed the world, but lost her connection to every Avatar before her and opened a new chapter in humanity’s relationship with the spirits. Each Avatar inherited the unfinished work of the one before them. Each fought battles they never started. Each left behind a world that was different, but never entirely at peace. Perhaps the saddest part of being the Avatar is that you spend your entire life fixing a broken world, knowing someone else will inherit the pieces you couldn’t put back together.
