I’m half way through - and would definitely recommend
Recommending @andyspin ‘s Manchester Unspun, although it is all usefully summed up on p11 “all we need know is that Manchester fancies itself rotten and thinks of itself as the capital of the North.” 🤣

You need patience as an urban designer - we did the master plan with this green way in 2004 and finally the last section is open!

A well-thought-through, community-led, vibrant mixed-use regen scheme, refused for not providing 2 car parking spaces per dwelling.. this in a location where only 5% of households own two cars..
The exemplary community-led regen project #destinationbootle has been denied planning permission by @seftoncouncil. Reasons? 1) Not enough carparks 2) not enough private space. But what if the point is to support greener, more communal existence? *Holds head in hands* 🤦‍♀️

The 15-Minute City is a good thing and vital during lockdown, but can cities operate as a series of unconnected neighbourhoods. Doesn’t that undermine the point of a city, asks @Davidurbedcoop1 #LearningFromLockdown ow.ly/qdc550ACCNz
