A challenging feat but I think he's done it! Andrew Griffith MP has written the most inaccurate paragraph on trade since 2016. Where "great many" = 3, "Many" = 1, CPTPP did not open new markets, the EU doesn't want to join, and Aus / NZ FTAs did not significantly open up trade

When they say 'rules' they mean regulatory alignment to remove barriers to free trade. Less red tape, more exports. The tories spend half their time telling us they're on the side of business & the other half sabotaging it. #politicslive

£32 BILLION.
GLA economists estimate London's economy was 6.2% (£32bn) smaller in 2019 than if the UK had voted Remain.
That was before we even left the EU.
Imagine the opportunities lost.

Having a new conversation about rejoining the EU is not rerunning the 2016 argument. 2016 was about leaving the EU which, after 10 yrs, we know has been a total disaster. The Brexeratti had their chance & blew it. Time to talk honestly about rejoining

Sergey Nalobin, a Russian ‘diplomat’ who launched the ‘Conservative Friends of Russia’ group has now been identified as a Russian intelligence officer involved in an attempted European disinformation campaign.
Nalobin called Boris Johnson a good friend and was quick to congratulate Vote Leave Chief Matthew Elliott on his engagement. Elliott was a founder member of the Conservative Friends of Russia, and in 2012 went on a 10-day trip to Moscow with all expenses paid by the Russian government.
The British authorities repeatedly refused to investigate Russian interference in the Brexit campaign and the UK’s broader politics. However, Nalobin was looking for a way to channel money into the Conservative Party in the early 2010s, and the Tories received many donations from Russian oligarchs resident in the UK. The article provides details of how Nalobin orchestrated Russian interference in Estonian politics, so it is very likely that he was playing the same role in the UK.
Putin wanted Brexit. The Tories delivered it, and unfortunately every British government since then has covered up the extent and nature of Russian interference in British politics.
Please repost if you demand that the government ends the conspiracy of silence and launches a full-scale investigation of Russian interference in British politics starting with the Conservative Friends of Russia and Farage's appearances on Russia Today.

Alastair Campbell - They can sit there … the people who gave us Brexit and now they want to give you another set of false promises.
Don not fall for them because they are a bunch of conmen, they are being found out & one reason why Nigel Farage will never be PM.

Alastair Campbell, "I will say to Zia Yusuf and his friend Nigel Farage"
"Brexit has taken 6-8% out of economy"
"If we had not left, the Chancellor today would have had £90 billion more to spend"
"He could have doubled the defence budget"
Fiona Bruce, "That is a projection Alastair, no one can be sure about that"
Alastair Campbell, "And added 50% to the health budget as well"
"The people who gave us Brexit now want to give you another set of false promises"
"Do not fall for them because they are a bunch of conmen. They're being found out. And its one reason why Nigel Farage will never be Prime Minister of this country"
My view:
Fiona Bruce was quick to dismiss Campbell’s figures as “a projection”. But that shouldn’t be a way to shut down the argument.
Campbell was making a point about what Brexit has cost the country: on his figures, a 6–8% hit to the economy means around £90 billion less for the Chancellor to spend—enough, he said, to double the defence budget or increase health spending by 50%.
And remember what Nigel Farage was saying in 2016: that even without a trade deal, Britain would be better off than it was then. The evidence points the other way.
The OBR estimates that Brexit will leave UK productivity around 4% lower than it would have been inside the EU; other studies put the economic hit higher. That means we’re poorer than we would have been had we stayed.
So yes, these are estimates—but the claims made by Brexit’s champions were projections too. Bruce’s caveat shouldn’t obscure the central question Campbell raised: how much has Brexit cost us, and what could that money have done for the country?

The UK's Migration Advisory Committee found no evidence that EEA migration reduced employment opportunities for UK-born workers on average.
That's the conclusion of a major government-commissioned assessment.
Why is the opposite claim repeated as established fact?

Reply guys / bots / red wallers, the world isn't 2016 any more, the UK isn't getting special deals from the EU, US, or China, and that's 75% of UK trade.
Geography and reality mean we have to deal with the EU. Andy Burnham gets that.
