Today, in the camp where we live, someone brought a pot containing some cooked pasta to distribute among the displaced people.
Moments later, people rushed toward the pot as if they had never seen food before. The signs of starvation on their faces were too painful to describe. When the pot was empty, some men began wiping its sides with their hands and then eating what they had scraped off.
Honestly, it was an incredibly heartbreaking sight. I don’t know if we are living in the same world where food is thrown into the garbage!
