My father spent eleven days in the hospital before he died.
During those eleven days, a young woman from the next room kept leaving little notes on his bedside table.
The first said, "I hope today is a better day."
The second said, "Somebody out there is thinking about you."
The third simply said, "Keep going."
My father was too weak to ask who was leaving them, and the nurses didn't know.
After the funeral, I returned to the hospital to collect the belongings we'd left behind.
I found one final note tucked inside his Bible.
It read, "Thank you for reminding me that I still have a reason to stay."
I didn't understand it.
My father had spent most of his time sleeping. He barely spoke to the other patients.
I asked a nurse about the woman in the next room.
She told me the woman had been admitted after a serious accident. She'd lost her husband and believed she had nothing left to live for.
My father had apparently noticed her crying one afternoon.
He'd asked the nurse to pass along a message.

I can't see a thing, been blind since birth. People ask how I know I'm in love. I don't need to see him to feel it his laugh, his hand in mine on our Brooklyn walks, his fries he always shares. Love I can feel 🏳️🌈

Alan Turing helped change the course of history, but his own country punished him for being gay.
His work as a mathematician and wartime codebreaker helped save lives. Yet in 1952, he was prosecuted for his relationship with another man and forced to undergo hormonal treatment.
He died in 1954, long before he could see how widely his work would be celebrated.
The injustice is difficult to ignore: the world benefited from his brilliance while the law treated his sexuality as a crime.
How many brilliant lives have been damaged simply because society couldn't accept who they loved?
His story deserves to be remembered. 🏳️🌈

A moment that shows love can exist even in places where people least expect it. Sometimes, the heart follows a path that challenges tradition, but genuine feelings deserve to be understood, not judged. ❤️🏳️🌈
