Hey y'all! So for the past 6 years, I've been helping my fiance make a video game! So while I warm up this account as my new main, I'm gonna post concept art and progress while we enter our final year of production! 💙 Thank you so much, and enjoy the ride with us! :D
🚨🚨 SLIME 64 IS COMING IN 2027 🚨🚨 It's a retro-inspired 3D collect-a-thon platformer with an emphasis on exploration and schmoovement. Play as elemental slimes who combine their powers, collect Bells & Whistles, and take down a robotic enterprise threatening the world!

A very healthy, loving and functional family photo! A recreation of the bear family photo from Mr. Sleepy Man, which is definitely my Game of the Year! Wreak Sleepy Havoc and get Lost in Dreams! It's on the ol' Steam n' Switch! store.steampowered.com/app/1… nintendo.com/us/store/produc…

If y'all wanna do this too, have fun! c: (It was found on Pinterest, but I couldn't find the OG creator. If anyone knows, please feel free to add them!)

Game dev is hard. But at the same time it's a really beautiful thing. I didn't grow up playing games, but I've really loved learning the process and seeing everyone's projects grow. There's still so much heart out there, amidst the slop. Thank you for making what you love.

"What was your biggest impact on the Internet?" I guess it was "Tavern Crawl" with @Jocat, @annapantsu, @JohnTheodore_ and a few other amazing folk years ago. I animated a few scenes, including the dancing armor suits! It was such a lovely project. Hope y'all are doing well!

I managed to figure out and engineer a full eye and eyebrow mechanism with simple pistons and telescoping/curtaining. It's fully mechanical and riggable.

This is a reminder that @Slime_64 is 100% homegrown, grassfed, and being made with love. And we are PROUD of it. FUCK AI.
Let's scroll the #SteamNextFest demos for ~90 seconds (Red means "ai content" was used)

We have tools that require you to think and be creative. AI is not one of them. It's a trap that stops your ability to learn and accept challenge. Create things yourself or with others. Take your time and do the tough parts. Feel proud when you say "I made this!" Reject AI.

The amount of AI slop I've been seeing on Steam Nextfest is heavily disheartening. Gimme the homegrown grassfed indies. Gimme the jank. Gimme the asset flips. Make something with your HEART, goddangit.
you can simply 👉👉 make games the old fashioned way

Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games. You've got my support 💖

Semihot(?) take: As an artist and animator for indie games, I ADORE "programmer art". It's literally my favorite genre. Stick figures and hand drawn assets read "I put my heart and soul into going out of my comfort zone and beyond my physical capabilities to do what I love."

Whereas I feel confident in saying that most folks playing indie games read AI art as "I just want money" Obv Toby and the rest of the skilled folks on the UT/DR team are making something so beautiful and profound This take is more for solo devs with little to no art background

If a solo dev can't afford an artist and still wants to make a game, the terrible MS paint art is so much more charming than genAI. It's literally made with love. Idk, this may be a super obvious take in my social circles, but I just wanted to throw it out there. Love y'all
