I rarely come on this app anymore but I want to tell you about this amazing game my dear friends have created and which is available currently through Kickstarter. Grassroots brings and about climate and the earth system. Great idea for a game to play with the family.
I'll be speaking about some of the recent work into anammox Biomarkers by @ZRvKemenade and others. See you there!

Very proud of Rachel for publishing this collaborative paper. 10 different research groups participated. The results of her hard work show that bacteriohopanetetrols of anammox bacteria have a distinct 13C signature. Powerful for paleo reconstructions!

Fully agree! Moving towards a livable future for the students they are training should be, at the very least, a fundamental goal of universities, right? Right???

I've been standing today with @SR_Netherlands SR scientists blocking the A12 to ask the Dutch government to stop subsidising fossil fuel companies
Yesterday, I spent Valentine's Day locked in a cell for 4.5 hours after protesting private jet and the exorbitant tax-free fossil fuel emissions of the rich. The richest 1% are responsible for more CO2 emissions than the poorest half of the world's population #MakeThemPay

Now here's the right way to alt text photos! A niveau to aim for @Simon_Hammann
In 1922, neighbours heard screams coming from a house in the affluent LA area of Layfette Park. When the police arrived, they found Fred Oesterreich dead & his wife Dolly locked inside in a closet. They were certain Dolly had done it, but they had no idea how.
Thread

ALT A black and white photograph of Dolly around the time of the trial. She is middle aged, sat on a chair, and looks every bit your 1930s glamour puss. She is wearing a fox fur around her neck, a long dress with laced sleeve details, and a bucket hat. Her hair is curled & she has her handbag on her knees. This is not someone you'd think would have a gimp stashed in the attic.
These are (some of) the reasons I love eels! Such amazing creatures ❤️
Just finished a @SkypeScientist call with a Grade 3 class in Connecticut. Minutes later I got thank you emails from each of the students 🥰🥰🥰 What a lovely program and such a fulfilling experience. Highly recommend to all scientists!
