New paper out! With Josefina Rivas and @AndreaCanalesH , we analyzed whether incarceration was a "turning point" for women's offending, and in what direction. Linking administrative data to the women's reentry study in Chile, we found that change wasn't uniform:
New SCJ study: prison doesn't produce a single type of reoffending trajectory. Of ~200 women tracked 10 years in Chile, those with the most extensive histories reduced offending the most, especially with access to job training.
