This is exactly the pick-me-up I needed after a painful rejection today. You must be psychic Evelyn!

This large gouache and watercolour (2ft by 3ft in old money) called 'Harvest' given a makeover ready to be auctioned for charity in a couple of weeks. I loved bringing this back from the brink and now will find it harder to let it go...#keeppaintingsoutoftheattic

Nature Table II - The Conker Leaf - watercolour, gouache, crayon. This is my one-in-a-million almost dead leaf. I am always drawn to a particular thing on my walks but have no idea why...#naturetable #autumnvibes #watercolour

This time of year I sometimes revert to nature table painting - captivated by nature's abundance, colour and nostalgia (reminds me of catapaults) This one is called, The Lichen Twig, started as a faithful watercolour but lapsed into gouache and polychrome crayons. #autumnvibes

This painting painting is called, 'Recollections May Vary.' Queen Elizabeth II - It is about remembering, and how the brain can overlap, reframe recontextualise and even steal. This recent foray into vintage photographs keeps me fascinated by how we interpret and remember.

Macy Dog - died decades ago , but resurrected briefly in paint.

Quick colour notes am so enjoying colour again. #crayoningtomusic #drawinglive #colouring

After an extended break, back with colour - the marvlous Funkingstein band, so full of energy and vigour, playing at the Little Albion Broadstairs. #funkwithcrayons

I've gone AWOL and cant stop painting nature in its summer glory! Here is, Close Encounter. A proper break from 'serious' painting and such a joy!. You can probably tell I am still full of post painting euphoria... #flowerpainting #nasturtium #oilpainting #enplienair

The sweet relief of using unrestricted colour with this one, A River Runs Through It- like taking my corset off! #oilpainting #landscapepainting #rivercolour

Busy doing other stuff - so here is one I made earlier, from some time in the last century. She looked a bit pale so I gave her a makeover with a soft warm glaze and I think she looks pleased. #wonderglaze

Thanks for repost!

As a rule I prefer to make portraits from life - but I broke this one for Cassia, who lost her Mum far too soon. Shirley loved people and parties, I hope wherever she is she's wearing a party frock and her good earrings. Here is Shirley for Cassia - gouache on mei teintes paper

Congratulations!

And for re-post x

Thanks Val! 🥰

Wow! Four of my five entries to the Jackson Art Prize have been selected for the extanded longlist. I am mad up! But it is only the first stage of the competition, along way to go yet... #chuffedtolittelmeatballs #jacksonartprize

This is a monster canvas (as tall as me on it's side) I found it very hard yesterday to get going on it. It filled me with equal parts of anitcipation and trepidation which gave me a sudden urge to decalcify the taps and dead leaf the plants... #startingnevergetsanyeasier
