Remember when getting around Kigali meant hopping on a bus and waiting for it to fill up?
Today, the city has scheduled buses, dedicated lanes and cashless payment, and now electric buses are joining the fleet.
Step by step, Kigali is adding electric buses to its public transport network, making travel cleaner, more efficient and more reliable.

Travel Smart, Pay Smart 🚌💳
1️⃣ Get your card (1,000 Frw) at a major bus terminal
2️⃣ Top up with cash at an agent/POS, or dial *532# to register your card and top up anytime
3️⃣ Tap on the validator when you board, wait for the green light + beep ✅
4️⃣ Ride, no extra taps unless you’re transferring buses
5️⃣ Tap again when you exit. Fare is calculated by the distance you traveled.

@ecofleetRw is doing a great job to ease movements . Something that is being increasingly noted is the indiscipline of their drivers. They don't seem 2 be bothered to follow traffic rules. What is being done 2 ensure that they r accountable like all other drivers without favor?
Is Kigali's bus reform working?
Tonight on @RwandaSquare, we sit down with Aubin Rukera, CEO of @EcofleetRw, to ask what has really changed for the daily commute: reliability, fares, electric buses, and where to turn when something goes wrong.

Developing football is not like grafting a fruit tree which can accelerate growth & enhance yield. Building stadiums, hiring experienced coaches and buying a few good (but near-retirement) players will not improve the game.
Investment needs to focus more on the grassroots—in soccer academies & school tournaments, because talent is nurtured and developed over time.

Rwandan football is not being pampered. There is real progress in investment and management in our sports.
The govnmt is investing in stadiums & professionalising sports.
Companies like BK and Skol are stepping up to support our league and clubs. Football, whether as a sport or a business, takes time to grow. We need better facilities, better management and more private investment. Results will come.
The European leagues we are all obsessed with did not become what they are overnight. They were built through years of investment and hard work.
Is Rwandan football finally turning a corner, or has it enjoyed too much investment without enough results?
Diana Mpyisi @curiousrwandan sees signs of progress, while Charles Haba @CharlesHaba believes Rwandan football has been pampered and needs to deliver.
Who do you agree with? Are things looking up, or is there still a long way to go? Join the conversation!

“Water scarcity is not just a supply issue; it is a question of planning, accountability and efficient management. With the technology available today, we should be able to identify distribution losses and address them. The loss of RWF 10 billion raises serious questions about the management of our water systems and the accountability of those responsible.”

“AI is more than just a buzzword; its real value lies in how effectively we learn to use it. Rwanda has made strides in building the infrastructure for AI, but the next step is ensuring people have the skills, digital access and ability to use it meaningfully. Access alone is not enough; we must learn to leverage the technology.”

“Women’s sports and youth competitions present Rwanda with a genuine opportunity to excel on the continental and international stage. Our women are already proving their potential in cricket and volleyball, while our youth teams continue to make their mark globally. These are the areas where Rwanda has the greatest opportunity to grow through talent, merit and investment.”
