We will be talking about Josh Rivera as the best shooter in the state and one of the top 5 players in the city by the end of this coming season.
Congratulations to Senior, Josh Rivera @joshrivera22 who was just offered by USC of the Big Ten! #Stepinac #NY #DefineYourFuture
I also think creating merged teams where it naturally fits is a no brainer. Kids in the Rivertowns all play youth sports together. Dobbs and Hastings were merged for a little while in the late 90’s I believe.
In ten years there will be a 30 for 30 about the fraud being carried out in the collectibles industry. Legitimate assets simply do not appreciate this way in the real world.

Let’s do some summer reading.
Recently I sat down on the GameDay One Podcast and spoke with Michael Eck, author of “Strike Season” which is available now on Amazon.
Eck is the father of three former standout @RyeAthletics athletes. The book, though, details his own senior season as a high school QB in Pennsylvania in 1979 when the football coaches left the sidelines to join a teachers union strike.
And the players coached themselves.
It’s an unbelievable story. Eck and I went through the book, his time as a parent in Rye and discussed his foundation: STEER for Student Athletes, which he helped create. All proceeds from the book benefit @STEER4Students.

Mamaroneck star Will Plunkett drafted today by the Baltimore Orioles.
The Binghamton University commit was taken in the 8th Round, 230th overall.
The Orioles select Will Plunkett in the eighth round of the MLB Draft.
The 4-star prep shortstop was tabbed as a sleeper prospect in this year's high school class.

Former Blind Brook baseball star Andrew Rogovic is leaving Northeastern for Ole Miss. Section 1 to the SEC is pretty incredible.
Rogovic had 60 Ks in 39.2 IP and a .169 opp BA in his sophomore season at Northeastern.
I was never a good enough athlete to win one but having the opportunity to partner with the Con Ed Scholar Athlete award these last two years has truly been a privilege. Amazing job as always by @KDJmedia1, this video perfectly shows how important this award is to area athletes.
Many of us grew up with the Con Ed Scholar Athlete of the Week Award appearing in the newspaper. For 75 years, it's a distinction that stands out among any other for a local athlete.
Here's my look back on what the award means and the prominent stars who've won it. @ConEdison
Great episode to close out the season

Very few coaches put as much time in for their players as @ionafootball coach Joe Spagnolo. And not just his current players.
Sat down with coach Spags this week to talk about recruiting, the NY/NJ Showday, the portal, NFL-bound Gaels and more.

In the years since starting GameDay One, @jamisonstev17 is one of my favorite young athletes I’ve had the privilege of being around. The athleticism and talent are obvious, but this is a kid who has a remarkable work ethic and self drive and also possesses a rare combination of confidence and humility.
In the studio tomorrow to tape a couple of GameDay One podcasts. Two great guests:
Former Woodlands basketball star Jamison Stevens, who is coming off a freshman year as a football player at Norfolk State under coach Michael Vick. And where is in the depth chart after spring ball. @GreenburghSport
@ionafootball coach Joe Spagnolo will also be joining me to talk about alumni in the NFL, this week's NJ/NY Recruiting Showcase, the 2026 schedule and what's next for the two-time state champs.

Dan Picart zig-zags through the defense!
We’re all tied at Robins Stadium.

Congratulations to Tyler Taerstein of @BBBVLacrosse on earning the title of Section 1 All-Time Scoring Leader. A tremendous accomplishment and example that young athletes can and should play multiple sports.
I’ve been privileged to cross paths with some very special HS athletes over the last few years with @KDJmedia1 and GameDay One and Jake Pampolina of @SuffernBoysBask is absolutely on that list. Couldn’t be happier to see him getting the opportunity to play Divison 1 basketball.
Congrats Jake Pampolina of @SuffernBoysBask on committing to D1 Tennessee Tech and coach Tobin Anderson.
Perfect pairing of a demanding coach and a player willing to do anything asked. Pampolina will need to prove himself. But Rockland's all-time leading scorer is ready

The story continues to spread nationally sports.yahoo.com/high-school…
These type of honorary ceremonies are planned far in advance and to insinuate that the county government is taking a side in a dispute between a private Catholic institution and their athletic governing body is just irresponsible.
County Governments now seem to be going to bat for @step_basketball in their impending disciplinary case with @CHSAA_NYC - requests to @KDJmedia1 @nateblue_ - who have been vocal on the topic - have not responded/denied invitation for civil discourse on the topic.
