Do you not see that your logic backfires spectacularly? If accepting Joseph's testimony means we follow Joseph instead of Jesus, then accepting Paul's testimony means you follow Paul instead of Jesus. Does that make Paul your cult leader? Your angel comparison... Gabriel announced Christ's birth, and John received revelation through an angel. Since when did angelic messengers become evidence of fraud? Apparently, only when you don't like the prophet involved. And the polygamy jab... Abraham, Jacob, and David practiced it. Are you throwing them out too? You haven't shown that Joseph's revelations were false, that the Book of Mormon misrepresents Christ, or that the Restoration didn't happen. You've just strung together a few similarities, sprinkled in some sexual insinuations, and acted like you've made a devastating point. Apparently, things that make you go "hmm" aren't always things that make you think.

This guy can't argue his faith, so he blocks.
I just checked my recent notes, and I don't appear to have perverted God's word anytime lately. If you could give me a specific time and date, that'd help nail it down. The gospel we believe is the same one Paul preached in 1 Corinthians 15.

You have a lot to say about Latter-day Saints, but very little of it amounts to an actual argument. Calling people brainwashed, delusional, and demonically deceived doesn't establish that their beliefs are false. It just tells us how strongly you dislike them. First, Latter-day Saints are Christians. We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the only way to salvation. We believe He suffered for our sins, died on the cross, rose from the dead, and conquered death. We worship the Father in the name of Jesus Christ. You can disagree with our understanding of the Godhead, but that doesn't make us worshipers of Satan. If you're going to insist that Christianity requires adherence to the Nicene Creed, you'll need to explain why a fourth-century theological formulation should determine whether someone is a follower of Christ. Second, we don't worship Joseph Smith. We honor him as a prophet, just as Christians honor Moses, Abraham, and Paul. Singing a hymn about a prophet doesn't mean we worship him. Nobody in an LDS sacrament meeting prays to Joseph Smith, administers ordinances in his name, or teaches that his sacrifice saves us from sin. That distinction shouldn't be difficult to understand. As for Joseph Smith's character, I have no problem acknowledging that his life raises difficult historical questions, particularly concerning plural marriage. Those issues deserve serious examination. But your account mixes documented history with exaggeration and unsupported accusations. For example, the story of an angel with a drawn sword comes from accounts concerning Joseph's obligation to practice plural marriage. It wasn't a story about Moroni threatening teenage girls with a flaming sword. If you're going to make historical accusations, at least get the history right. You also seem to think that pointing out Joseph Smith's moral failings automatically disproves his prophetic calling. But how does that follow? David committed adultery and arranged for Uriah's death. Peter denied Christ three times. Biblical prophets weren't morally infallible. That doesn't excuse Joseph Smith's mistakes or settle whether his actions were justified. It simply means that demonstrating someone's imperfections isn't the same as demonstrating that God never worked through him. Your claim that there is literally no evidence for the Book of Mormon is also mistaken. Eleven named witnesses testified concerning the gold plates. Eight claimed to have physically handled them, while three described seeing the plates in a divine manifestation. Several of these men later had serious disagreements with Joseph Smith. Some left the Church entirely, yet continued affirming their testimonies. David Whitmer never returned to the LDS Church, but he defended his testimony of the Book of Mormon for the rest of his life. You dismiss these witnesses as friends and family who were supposedly involved in a conspiracy. But where is your evidence of that conspiracy? Where are the confessions establishing that they knowingly participated in a fraud? What explains their continued testimonies after some became bitterly estranged from Joseph Smith? Being related to someone doesn't automatically make a person's testimony false. Neither does religious commitment. Those considerations may affect how we weigh testimony, but they don't justify dismissing it without examination. And since you're approaching this from a Christian perspective, your ridicule of Joseph Smith's supernatural experiences is rather strange. You believe angels appeared to Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds. You believe Moses and Elijah appeared at the Transfiguration. You believe Paul encountered the resurrected Christ and that John witnessed extraordinary heavenly visions. Yet when Joseph Smith reports angelic visitations, you treat the extraordinary nature of those experiences as sufficient reason to dismiss them. Why? If God could send angels and reveal Himself to prophets in biblical times, what prevents Him from doing so in the nineteenth century? You can't simply assume that all biblical manifestations were genuine while all subsequent manifestations were imaginary. You need an argument for that distinction. Likewise, mocking Joseph Smith for claiming visits from heavenly messengers doesn't tell us whether those visits occurred. It only tells us that you don't believe him. Regarding Joseph Smith's death, the circumstances leading to his imprisonment were complicated. His involvement in the destruction of the Nauvoo Expositor press and the political tensions surrounding Nauvoo are legitimate historical subjects. But none of that changes the fact that Joseph and Hyrum Smith were murdered by an armed mob while in custody. Recognizing that they were victims of mob violence doesn't require pretending that Joseph Smith never made controversial decisions. Then there's your accusation that pride is the defining characteristic of Latter-day Saints. You have just condemned millions of people as spiritually delusional, brainwashed, and under the influence of Satan. You claim to know their hearts, their motives, and their standing before God, apparently on the basis of their religious affiliation. Does that strike you as an especially humble position? Jesus warned against precisely this sort of self-righteous judgment. He also taught that His followers would be known by their fruits. Surely that requires something more thoughtful than assigning the worst possible motives to everyone who belongs to a religion you dislike. And your characterization of the Book of Mormon as offering no divine wisdom makes me wonder how seriously you've actually engaged with its teachings. Mosiah 3:17 declares that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ. Alma 34 teaches that Christ's infinite and eternal atonement makes repentance and redemption possible. Second Nephi 25:26 explains that the purpose of their preaching and writing is to persuade their children to believe in Christ. You don't have to accept the Book of Mormon as ancient scripture. But dismissing its teachings as devoid of spiritual value while ignoring its sustained witness of Jesus Christ isn't much of an argument. The Restoration doesn't teach that Joseph Smith replaces Christ. It teaches that God called Joseph Smith to testify of Christ and restore truths and authority that had been lost. You can dispute that claim, but you need to address what Latter-day Saints actually believe rather than attacking a caricature. The central issue is whether God has continued to reveal Himself. If you believe God spoke through prophets anciently, why should we assume He stopped? Where does the Bible clearly teach that God would never again call a prophet, restore priesthood authority, or reveal additional scripture? And before appealing to the biblical canon, remember that the canon itself emerged through a historical process. You can't simply assume that your inherited collection of scripture is closed by divine decree and then use that assumption to rule out every subsequent revelation. There are serious questions worth discussing concerning Joseph Smith, the Book of Mormon, and the Restoration. I'm perfectly willing to have those discussions. But calling Joseph Smith a conman, dismissing witnesses as conspirators, and accusing ordinary Latter-day Saints of worshiping Satan doesn't establish anything. If you want to argue that the Restoration is false, demonstrate it. Show why the witnesses should be rejected. Explain why continued revelation is theologically impossible. Establish that Joseph Smith's claims were fabricated rather than merely announcing that you find them unbelievable. Until then, you're confusing your certainty with proof. I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that He died for my sins, that He rose from the dead, and that salvation comes through His grace. I believe the Book of Mormon testifies of Him and that God continues to speak to His children.

What I'm about to say is going to bother some people, anger others. But I've spent a long, long time on this. I believe the current iteration of the Democrat Party is a communo-fascist party of evil proportions. A "Red-Brown" fusion that has happened numerous times before. They represent a danger to our nation. A real danger.
