Arrived safely in Ukraine Monday evening and stopped over in Lviv, one of my favourite cities. Enroute to ministry and meetings over the next week across the Khmelnytskyi oblast and in Kyiv. Grateful for your prayers. If you are around and want to meet, let me know! β at Moldova
Apropos of nothing, of course, in a republic, power ultimately belongs to the people and is exercised through elected representatives whose authority is limited by constitutional principles, the rule of law, and various checks and balances. β at Moldova
When an elected representative elevates themselves and their will above other institutions, evades legislative scrutiny, defies judicial authority, and circumvents due process to centralise power in the executive, they are rejecting the very framework of republicanism. β at Moldova

This morning as we gather for worship, we will spend time reflecting on Matthew 9:35-38. It begins:
"And Jesus went."
The word and deed ministry of Jesus to all kinds of people in all kinds of places continues in, among, and through us today as we gather and go with good news.

This is an inconvenient truth for some, but nonetheless a truth: True Baptists will not modify Baptist political theology in response to cultural change.
Right doctrine doesnβt shift. Either it was correct centuries ago and still is, or it was incorrect to begin with.
An encouraging start to the 2026-2027 cycle of @GraceBaptistP's Growing Leaders: Basic Training course. Today we introduced basic principles of Biblical exegesis, examining a familiar text from angles: context, content, conduct, and Christ. Next month: OT exegesis!
After a brief break in September, Grace Baptist Partnership News and Views is back. This month's edition reports on the recent "Where are the Men?" conference and a helpful challenge to a culture that may train men for ministry, but then does not trust them with ministry. β at Tottenham, London
Initiatives like the "Where are the Men?" conference are free of charge but not without cost. If you would like to contribute to Grace Baptist Partnership, you can do so at gracebaptistpartnership.org/β¦ or get in touch for more information. β at Tottenham, London

βDo you believe that I am able to do this?β (Matt. 9:28)
Two blind men answered Jesus "yes". They had already shown it by coming to him, despite limitations. We too gather, trusting him to work in our lives.

I had just caught my long-time friend tip-toeing for the camera! π Grateful for him and his service to us at Grace Baptist Church Wood Green this summer. β at Tottenham, London
We praise God for the generosity of @GraceBaptistP and Grace Baptist Church North Watford who have shared Daniel Shwe with us through the summer one day a week to assist us with evangelism and outreach on the local high street and door-to-door. Yesterday was his last day with us!
10 years today. Many tests. And many testimonies. Always together, by God's grace. Lord willing, just getting started.
"Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it." Song of Solomon 8:7
I love you, dear.

Thank you, @WillyRice, for reminding us of God's wonderful, meticulous providence today. May the Lord bless your onward journey and help you greatly in your ministry. Thank you and @CalvaryChurchCl for seven years of partnership. β at Tottenham, London
Grateful for a powerful and timely exposition of Genesis 50:19-20 from our guest Dr. @WillyRice, pastor of @CalvaryChurchCl and president of the Southern Baptist Convention, (pictured with our pastor @RyanBurtonKing) today. Bottom line: You can trust God!
A great day at the @GraceBaptistP "Where are the men?" conference!
Unto the grave, what shall we sing?
"Christ, He lives, Christ, He lives!"
And what reward will Heaven bring?
Everlasting life with Him! β at Tottenham, London
I love stories of ordinary people doing what right and good things they can, with what they have, to help others. 25 years on is a good time to remember this one: youtu.be/MDOrzF7B2Kg?is=5a7Oβ¦
Historyπ§΅
βThe missions movement was profoundly supported by state actors in Britainβ¦β
I stopped reading there. This sort of absurdly reductive revisionist commentary is what happens when the agenda is allowed to shape the historical record.

I rest my case. Missionaries, for all their human flaws, were pursuing (Christβs) Kingdom priorities. Agents of the British state had (commercial) Empire priorities, however much they may use Christian language and operate in an Anglican state-church culture.
