Apparently some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses.

i was trying to sketch an ovenbird in the park because they flag as rare on ebird but then a french tourist stopped me and handed me her notebook and asked me to draw a bird but the birds all left and i was in a rush so i doodled her a bad house sparrow and she was so happy

i led a mindful birding tour this weekend in nyc and we were rewarded for our efforts of slow, intentional observation with this rufous hummingbird, a vagrant from the west coast, showing up during our final centering session

I learned about the Holocaust and I was like, that's bad. Then I learned about the Civil Rights Movement and I was like, that's good.
How are any young men left wing I genuinely don’t understand

The IDF provided cover, with tear gas and machine guns, while the settlers beat @washingtonpost journalist Heidi Levine nearly to death. Then the IDF shot a Palestinian bystander, and aimed their guns and shoved the paramedics who were trying to treat him. All of this documented.
Earlier today, IDF and Israel Border Police forces were dispatched to an area adjacent to Khirbet Abu Falah, following a report of a violent confrontation. Foreign media personnel were present at the scene and a female journalist was injured during the confrontation. All details of the incident will be examined. Upon arriving to the scene, the forces acted to disperse the confrontation using riot dispersal means. At another location where the confrontation took place, IDF soldiers initially fired warning shots into the air and then fired toward a suspect who ran toward them, carrying a sharp object and posed a threat to them. The confrontation was dispersed. Israeli Police forces and forensic investigators from the Judea and Samaria District will enter the area with IDF security to collect findings and evidence, as well as take testimonies. Violence against innocent civilians is a grave and intolerable phenomenon that requires a coordinated, multi-agency response. The IDF will work together with the relevant authorities to eradicate this phenomenon. The IDF strongly condemns this incident. Attempts to incite friction between populations undermine security in the area.

there's no RYMA (unless a population of magpies or martins on japan's ryukyu islands feels like evolving into an endemic species) but there are multiple Ryan Mandelbaums so we can go ahead and use the banding code, RMAN, which I share with the rufous-margined antwren :)
This bird even shares my banding code ☺️

do i need to weigh in on the "lifers should be seen versus heard" discourse in order to remain relevant in bird twitter. i don't want to. i don't think you should police how other people bird unless they're lying or being a bad person.

i don't even care if you count birds you saw on feeder cams on your life list so long as you're not submitting them to ebird or whatever!
