It should take a lot of drama to put in a 9-3 team. And to be fair, there's been a lot of drama this year. But we shouldn't be able to make such statements this early. – at Monona, WI
BCS was not a perfect system or poll but at least you knew going in what went into it (theoretically). The committee, even when they happen to more or less get it right (not now) is so inconsistent. One week it's eye test ("we were impressed with how this team ran the ball"), the next it's quality wins, then quality losses, etc.
And worse yet it's all made for TV drama. It's like an episode of dancing with the stars or something.
Create a BCS type of system. Doesn't have to he exactly what it was in 1998 or 2013. It can be tweaked over time. It can incorporate human polls (like it did then). But use that to rank teams towards the playoffs, allowing for some parameters (top 5 conference champions, for example). – at Monona, WI
Tuberville will win in Alabama but it looks like its the closest election since 2002 (from ~5 minutes of research lol).
Saying "I stand with president trump" is barely going to even work in Alabama. And not to be crass or insensitive but the boomer base that may appeal to is dying off.
Will be interesting to see if that party continues to double down or has some introspection. – at Monona, WI

Trump has spent a decade purging conservatism—constitutional, economic, and even social (in the deepest sense of humility and respect for others)—from the Republican Party.
We should take solace in this absolute defeat because it’s a real chance to rebuild American conservatism.
I've kept up very little but from scrolling on here for about 3 minutes it looks like the Dems are winning a lot. I take little joy in seeing democrats win but good riddance to these Republicans. The administration has been an abject disaster on just about every front and very few Republicans have the spine to say that because it may not please the crown.
I asked earlier if they can both lose. That's impossible, unfortunately. But suffice it to say that I take no pity on the gop. They brought this disaster upon themselves and upon the country they supposedly love. – at Monona, WI

If you hold your nose and vote for maga candidates, your vote will count just the same as if you walked in with a red maga hat on. And if you hold your nose and vote blue because you hate maga, your vote will count the same as if you have one of those "in this house we believe" signs in your yard.
Vote if you must. It's a calculated decision everyone must come to. I'm certainly not saying that you should only vote if someone is perfect. It does no good to let perfection be the enemy of good or progress.
But just remember that the people you vote for aren't going to see you holding your nose. They're going to see the red hats and yard signs and bumper stickers.
And as long as those people keep getting votes, they'll continue to do the things that get votes - pitting good people against each other and appealing to our cultish, tribal natures. – at Maple Bluff, WI
A lot of people said Florida was a must win or the most important game on the schedule. Then it became LSU and Ole Miss for some after Georgia.
I think it's actually Arkansas. Win it and you're at minimum (barring a loss to Samford) going bowling. And you'll have a good shot to get momentum heading into the end of the year and finish 7-5. It'll be the first time since 2023 we've won 3 SEC games in a season and it'll give us a chance to win 4 for the first time since 2020. But if you lose it, you're staring at 5-7 again.
It's really the difference between a successful year 1 and a failure in year 1 with Golesh in a lot of ways.
We don't have the talent to beat the top half of the SEC teams. But if we can win what we're supposed to (which includes Arkansas) while stealing one we shouldn't (already done), that'll be a success in year 1. – at Maple Bluff, WI
Can someone explain what a passkey is, how its different than a password, and why it's needed if you have a password?
Sorry if this is a dumb question.
