What a night at @StockportPlaza1 seeing @BlossomsBand’s amazing new album from start to finish 😍🎂
Can’t wait to see them headlining Co-op Live soon - playing the arena venues they deserve to be at.
Really pleased to see this, for the whole @ThePCCLondon team & supporters.
When I was Cabinet Member for Culture in Westminster Council, we were clear we’d do all we could to help save the PCC - and I was pleased to help it become an Asset of Community Value with @w9maidavale.
The Prince Charles Cinema Secures its Future
The Prince Charles Cinema is thrilled to announce that we have signed a new 25-year lease with no break clause, ensuring our projectors will keep rolling for years to come.
#YouSavedThePCC
This is an example of grassroots support coming together to help save a beloved community cultural asset. We must do all we can to support organisations like the Prince Charles Cinema all across the country.
Congrats @ThePCCLondon. Looking forward to popping along again soon.

It's disappointing that the new adminstration at Westminster is delaying its biggest growth project for at least another year. This is a once in a generation chance to invest in the West End. Let's get on with it. architectsjournal.co.uk/news…

A good thread from @LukeTryl!
Those saying “gains from 2024”… combined Green & Feinstein vote at the ‘24 GE was 29.3%.
Feinstein withdrew, backed Polanski & has been active throughout. So they’re up 4% - and down from May, whilst Labour up!
This was a thumping victory!! 🌹
Replying to @LukeTryl
Compared to the local elections in May, where Greens/CPA had a pact the Labour vote is up and the Green vote is down. Right vote and Liberal Democrat vote down.
Very surprised to see these worrying comments from @Leader_WCC. When I was Cabinet Member for Culture in Westminster, I always thought we had cross-part consensus on the importance of the West End & our creative industries.
WEL showcases that & has a direct positive local impact
Blimey. @Leader_WCC describes West End Live as a “visitor economy gig” with “no benefit to residents” and threatens the axe. This after hailing its success and listing the creative industries as a major growth sector to be supported by the council. westminsterlabour.org.uk/iss…
Under @wminsterlabour the council’s plans for Culture were turbocharged, working in partnership with @SOLTnews and the wider industry, with whom we co-designed our Cultural Strategy.
Let’s hope these comments don’t indicate a plan to reduce the council’s role in this space!
And I really hope the new Tory administration in Westminster is committed to fully implementing the actions in our Cultural Strategy, to continue the impact that the hard work put in over the last few years had for residents and business in the City. westminster.gov.uk/cultural-…
Brilliant from @DrSimEvans
As a cautionary tale, I often direct my teams to look at another Excel error that had huge economic & social impacts - by informing Osborne’s austerity agenda (theguardian.com/politics/201…)
Let’s hope the Tories correct this excel error this time.

Hope for my generation and the ones that will follow. We have been let down by politicians in the past but today Andy spoke with honesty about rewriting the social contract. Game changing imho

Enough is enough.
For years, people have been expected to put up with Avanti’s cancellations, delays, overcrowding, and a service that has failed them time and time again.
So my Labour government is bringing Avanti West Coast into public ownership at the earliest opportunity in March next year.
That means passengers, not shareholders, will come first.
More investment, fewer delays, and a renewed focus on getting the basics right.
We're putting essential services back in public hands and building a railway that actually works for the people who use it.
Great to start my Labour Conference 2026 speaking about many of my favourite topics - the warm homes plan, investment to reduce energy bills, tackling fuel poverty, the opportunity devolution presents, and Greater Manchester!
Thanks @LCEF_UK & @NEA_UKCharity
Join us now for our @NEA_UKCharity panel on the politics of fuel poverty, what Manchesterism means for the Warm Homes Plan, and how we can unlock progress on decarbonisation, health equality and child poverty. We're delighted to have Minister Polly Billington with us!
🌹 Great to be out with @Sagal_AW yesterday. Sagal has served the community across Holborn & St Pancras for years, and I know will continue to do so brilliantly as their new MP!

🔥 HOT OFF THE PRESS
For the first time ever, @iea.org has published a dedicated Electrification Report. An absolute treasure trove of data.
Here are the key takeaways that stood out to me when I peer-reviewed it. 🧵

Delighted to see @FortuneJF selected as new Gen Sec of the Labour Party.
Sorry to lose a dedicated and supportive trustee from @LCEF_UK but hes going to do amazing things in his new role. Looking forward to continuing the good work with him.
