Coding has become the killer app for agentic AI. Here’s why. Product value propositions generally fall into two categories: efficiency and effectiveness. Efficiency products help organizations save time and reduce costs. There is obvious value here, but efficiency alone can quickly become a race to the bottom. Effectiveness is different. Effectiveness is about helping customers protect and grow revenue, and deliver differentiated value in the market. These are the products that command a true premium. This distinction matters because the transformational opportunity with agentic AI is not just about efficiency and automating away low-cost work. It is accelerating and amplifying an organization’s ability to deliver unique client value. Nowhere is this more true than in software businesses, where agentic AI can dramatically increase the speed and quality with which product & engineering teams deliver customer value.
