I always looked at it as #ShahRukhKhan's attempt of redoing #Endhiran
All he lacked was a good writer and director like #Shankar
If it wasn't a crap, SRK would have had the blockbuster he was looking for after #MNIK

#Lawman (1971) :
A heroic movie, heroic talk, heroic thoughts, but deep down, it's a male-ego-provoking Western trying to be revisionist in its own way!
Lawman has to be one of the most heroic films #BurtLancaster ever did. Since he is the lawman and quick with a gun, you know nobody stands a chance against him. There is #RobertRyan too, as the town marshal, but he is nothing like that. He is rather a slave than a hero, and it was heartbreaking to see that. But a few moments later, when one of the villain's men tries to talk about Ryan's character like he's some cheap fella, the villain claims, "You might not think much of Cotton Ryan these days. But in his days, you couldn't walk in the same sun as him." I mean, that's my stuff bro! That's the kind of elevation you want to see for someone like Robert Ryan. There is another line, "Everybody remembers me at Fort Bliss." You don't get to see much of Ryan's heroics here, but there's plenty of it from Lancaster. He is just unstoppable. Maddox is the character he plays, a US Marshal who arrives in town to arrest a group of cowboys for killing an old man in his town (by accident). He would stop at nothing and listen to no one. His old flame, now married to one of the men on the list, comes to him, but he rejects her plea. But God knows for what silly reasons, the writer had to pair them up again. It was so illogical to see him getting intimate with his ex-girlfriend, who is now married to someone else, especially when her husband is tied up just outside the house. Just one of those stupid scenes I'd like to forget. Then there is another scene in the climax when this unstoppable Maddox finally decides to give up just because a window doesn't offer him a smiling face. For God's sake, it doesn't take much for him to come back to his senses and realise what true heroism means and how male ego matters the most when everyone's against you. As he says, it comes with the job, and that makes the difference between a cowman and a lawman. Lancaster, Ryan and #LeeJCobb are all three amazing, and #MichaelWinner has truly served up a red-blooded Western loaded with plenty of action.
RATING – 6.5/10*
#TwoMulesForSisterSara (1970) :
Quite a surprise to see Clint Eastwood getting into a Western comedy.
I have known Don Siegel for The Verdict, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, The Shootist, Dirty Harry, Escape from Alcatraz and other films, but I didn't know this side of Siegel. Similarly, I know Eastwood for many Western classics, but none of them were funny ones. Interestingly, he was also a part of Kelly's Heroes, made in the same year, and Two Mules for Sister Sara falls into the same category of "Western comedy." This is a Western blended with romantic comedy and the Mexican Revolution. Clint plays Hogan, a mercenary who saves a woman from bandits when she's half-naked. He kills the bandits and asks the woman to get dressed. She comes back wearing a nun's dress, and from that moment, Hogan stays within his limits. He then gets involved in a revolution led by the Juaristas against the puppet reign of Emperor Maximilian in Mexico. Hogan saves Sara a couple of times, and she does the same for him. While drunk, he expresses his desire to have her because she is beautiful, but he can't act on it since she is a "nun." Sara then springs a solid surprise at the end that shocks you, but pleasantly. Will they be able to defeat their enemies? Eastwood carries on with his swag, and this time, you also get to see him singing. Shirley MacLaine looks so gorgeous, man. Forget Hogan, if I were in his place, I would have felt the same way he did. That first shot with her back exposed was so seductive, and she looked so gorgeous throughout in that nun's getup, too. Then, that surprising makeover at the end makes her look even prettier. Manolo Fábregas arrives late in the proceedings but does a fine job. Don Siegel makes it an entertaining movie with very few serious moments. Even the revolutionary scenes and the final war-like sequence are fairly funny. Overall, Two Mules for Sister Sara is a superb timepass, and it is not what you think it is. Let it deceive you and simply have fun watching it.
RATING – 7/10*

#TheProudOnes (1956) :
The golden Western template for true cinema lovers who know what it truly means!
You know there are Western classics featuring a protagonist who is a proud man – proud of his work, ethics, morals, and sacrifices. #HighNoon (1952) set a benchmark in this category and established a template that many films would follow later. The Proud Ones is one of them, and it is quite evident from the title itself. This film also revolves around a proud man. Marshal Cass Silver is keeping the law intact in a small town when an old friend, Barrett, arrives to run his dirty business during the peak season. In the past, Cass had backed out of a gunfight with Barrett because of his girlfriend, but Barrett considered it his own victory. Cass meets Thad, a young fella whose father was killed by him. Thad and Cass get along well when Cass tells him the truth about his father, who was a gunslinger sent by Barrett. Barrett brings two gunmen to town to deal with Cass, but will they be able to stand against the gun master? There is a catch, though. Cass suffers from bouts of blindness, making him more vulnerable against these bad guys. Will Thad stand by Cass and help him take care of Barrett and his gang? That's what you have to find out in the climax. Cass is portrayed as a noble man. He could have dealt with Barrett long ago, but there is always a girl behind a scam like this. When Cass finally tells her that a man can't live his life being ashamed, it truly becomes a peak male content moment for all of us. "You make a decision in 5 minutes and later think about you could redo those 5 minutes again," "Pride can kill a man faster than a bullet," and "Don't shove in" – dialogues like these make the film more masculine and special. Robert Ryan is marvelous – the perfect choice for this role. Virginia Mayo and Jeffrey Hunter also justify their casting, and Walter Brennan, my man, mad respect for you! Robert Middleton makes for a fine villain without needing much action. The screenplay, cinematography, and editing work well together to deliver a power-packed experience. All credit to Robert D. Webb's vision and execution. A superb 50s Western that you simply can't miss.

#TumMereHo seeing good rushes on Sunday, especially the youths are filling in cinemas in good numbers.
The main attraction is #GurmeetChoudhary & #IshaMalviya's chemistry, of course. They are winning hearts 💕
A good growth at plexes in urban centres can be seen and will reflect in numbers as well. For a project of this scale and dedication, the success is well justified.

#SSRajamouli says #Varanasi is 5x bigger than #RRR 😍🔥

Namit Malhotra planning a #Hanuman film with #SumnyDeol after #Ramayana 🤯🔥
“Hanuman is one of the most important characters in the Ramayana, and there is a lot more to his story than what can be explored within the central narrative. The idea is to make every film its own story but still connected to the bigger universe. Hanuman has the scale and emotional appeal to carry a film on his own. With Nitesh Tiwari-directed Ramayana: Part 2 now expected to release during Diwali 2028, the makers have time to develop the next chapter of the franchise"- Source (midday)

#TheProfessionals (1966) :
Lee Marvin, Burt Lancaster & Robert Ryan – 3 legends coming together for a professional revisionist Western.
Watching Marvin, Lancaster and Ryan together is itself enough to excite me about a movie, and then you have another one joining them, Woody Strode. The Professionals has an apt title for its cast and storyline, and it makes you believe in it fully by the time you finish watching it. The film begins as a professional job and then turns into a moral decision-making saga that feels good and quite necessary by the climax. The film begins with a rich American rancher, J.W. Grant, hiring professionals to rescue his wife, Maria, who has been kidnapped by Raza. Grant hires Rico, Hans and Jake. Rico brings in Dolworth, an explosives expert. These two have known Raza as a soldier but don't mind killing him for this job, or better say, for money. The four enter Mexico and track down Raza and his men. At night, they attack Raza's camp and escape with Maria. She then tells them that she wasn't kidnapped by Raza and that she is in love with him. Rather, it was Grant who forced her to marry him. Her pleas don't make any difference to the four professionals, as they are set out to fulfil their commitment to Grant and collect their money. However, during this journey, they discover several facts that change their perspective. How will they face Grant now? You might know or predict the climax from here, but it's still fun to watch it unfold on screen. In the end, Grant yells at Rico, "Bastrd!" His reply has become a famous quote: "Yes sir, in my case an accident of birth. But you sir, you're a self-made man." Lee Marvin delivers it in style, and you are gonna scream out at that moment. Lee Marvin, the legend of the Western genre, is fantastic, and another fellow from the same category, Robert Ryan, is fine too. Burt gets quite a meaty role, and Woody Strode has his own heroic moments. Overall, Richard Brooks has served up a solid Western with some of your favourite legends tagged together, so you can't really miss it.
RATING – 6.5/10*

#KellysHeroes (1970) :
One of the best war comedies ever made!
Kelly's Heroes is a mix of multiple genres that usually don't go hand in hand. Set during World War II, the film blends war drama with comedy, heist elements and satire. It also parodies a few scenes and historical figures along the way, creating a hilarious ride from start to finish. Kelly, an American soldier, gets hold of an intelligence officer trying to smuggle gold in the form of lead plates. After getting him drunk, Kelly learns the location of 14,000 gold plates worth $16 million, but they are 30 miles away, across enemy lines. Kelly then decides that this gold heist is more important than the war they are fighting and starts figuring out how to pull it off. He brings together a scheming sergeant, a nutty tank captain who overhears their conversation, his own fellow soldiers and, finally, his commander, Big Joe. Everyone is promised an equal share of the gold, and the expedition begins. Kelly's men fight German soldiers along the way and make it through, while Oddball advances with his tanks. However, a bridge they need to cross is destroyed moments later, forcing them to rebuild it. To get the job done, Oddball recruits a group of soldiers by promising them a share of the gold. Will they be able to get their hands on the treasure? Clint Eastwood doesn't have a particularly funny role. He mostly stays in his usual serious zone, albeit with a lighter touch. Telly Savalas is a freak, Donald Sutherland is hilarious, Carroll O'Connor gets his fair share of funny moments, and Don Rickles is simply fantastic. I just went through the deleted scenes and realised that the film would have been even funnier had those scenes not been removed. I don't know how writer Troy Kennedy Martin came up with this idea, but it was one hell of a crazy concept, for sure. Director Brian G. Hutton brings madness to a serious genre like war drama, and history will never forget him for that. To hell with logic; just sit back, have some solid laughs and enjoy this hilarious war caper!
