I posted 16,000 times.
I paid for Premium every month.
I made $0.
So I blamed the algorithm.
Then I looked at my own strategy.
100 copy-paste replies a day.
Image posts with no captions.
No system. No review.
The algorithm didn't fail me.
I failed the algorithm.
Now I'm rebuilding in public.
2 posts a day. Real comments. One system.
I'll post my numbers every month, even the embarrassing ones.
What I check before I comment:
Did I actually read the post?
Can I add one true thing?
Would I say it to their face?
Most replies fail the first test.
Three questions before I publish:
Can it be said in fewer words?
Would a beginner get it in one read?
Does it still help if nobody likes it?
What 41 days of daily comments taught me:
Replies start the conversations posts cannot.
Specific beats clever, every time.
Consistency beats intensity.
People remember who showed up.
Quiet signs the work is working:
You need less reassurance.
Your drafts get shorter.
Your standards get simpler.
You finish before you feel ready.
Building in public, honestly:
Post the numbers, not the highlights.
Admit the slow weeks.
Share the system, not the flex.
The truth is the whole brand.
Day 40.
On Sunday the letter goes out.
No algorithm in between.
No crowd to perform for.
One page. One reader. The truth.
Slow growth feels like losing.
Until you notice you own everything you built.
No shortcuts. No rented audience.
Just work that stays yours.
Write to one person:
One beginner, not everyone.
One problem, not ten.
One clear next step.
Posts for everyone reach no one.
I started a newsletter.
The Quiet Work. One honest letter every Sunday on discipline, writing, and building a business in public.
The first letter is the full story: 16,000 posts, $0, and the system I follow now.
