Student Borrower Protection Center Employees Announce Staff Labor Union October 31, 2024—The employees of Student Borrower Protection Center (SBPC), a fiscally sponsored project of Shared Ascent Fund are proud to announce Protect Borrowers Staff, a staff union represented by the Office & Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) Local 39. “We chose to work at SBPC for the same reason we chose to organize: we’re fighting for a future that’s fair for everyone,” said Amy Czulada, chief steward of Protect Borrowers Staff. “Organized labor has a long history of being on the frontlines of progressive issues, securing victories for workers & communities.
