Our Class C girls pre-season rankings are posted. Our website at preprunningnerd.com/preseaso… includes more detail on the top 10 listed below, the top 15 rankings, and the Nerd watch list. Our Class C preview at preprunningnerd.com/post/202… provides more detail on the Class C field. Since this is the first rankings of the season, we'll give more background this week. As a reminder, we post individual rankings to generate increased interest in the sport, and we’re not out to hurt anyone’s feelings. Looking at last week's results, Tayla Hurner of Wayne won the Logan View Invite in 19:53. Addison Hauxwell of Chase County won the Dundy County-Stratton 3200 meet. Alexa Warner of Minden won the GINW meet but is inexplicably not included in our rankings this week; we'll revisit that next week. Defending champ Scout Bell of Gothenburg looks to win again but she'll have motivated competition beyond the Class C 2025 medalists. Mallory Robbins of Plattsmouth and Brooklyn Kermmoade of Platteview make the move from Class B to Class C this year. Avery Heinrich was 2nd at State her freshman year before having a setback at 2025 State; look for her to return to form this year. Neva Bauer of Arlington and Hurner from Wayne have the fastest 3200 PRs in the field at 11:11. We had hoped to see everyone race this week but today's Plattsmouth meet has already been cancelled due to heat. Gothenburg will open its season at Lexington on Thursday and Minden on Saturday; we'll be watching for results for Scout Bell and freshman Cassidy Reiman. The Seward meet has five Class C teams. We'll post updated rankings every Tuesday. If you missed the coaches' team rankings we posted yesterday, you can find those at preprunningnerd.com/rankings.
