Some of of first year BA @TeachStMarys students getting excited about creating their stop motion animations!
In this module we are exploring how to use a range of devices to create a range of digital artefacts.
Some great ideas shared at the #ilovecomputing23 conference!
However, this shared by @janewaite from @RaspberryPi_org is something of real relevance! Linking to the learning our PGCE students have been doing in sessions with @MissJGM
Today we used #externaldevices to bring our #computerscience learning to life!
Using the @microbit_edu we created a dice to play a place value games with them. @simmsprimaths you’ll be happy to hear the student’s PV knowledge was 👌
We were extending understanding of Scratch today within our computer science sessions.
Great use of the @makeymakey board to bring our random poem generator to life.
@TeachStMarys @scratch
This week we have been applying the PRIMM structure to developing subject knowledge within computer science.
@TeachStMarys students, scaffolded by the structure, created an interactive game on @scratch.
They then played each others games and shared their creations!
Using button cards with #beebots helps young children with learning about computational thinking and not test their memory!
It promotes @BarefootComp ‘s computational thinking:
- prompts logical thinking
- helps with debugging
- transition to block coding
What a great week we have had with our @TeachStMarys primary PGCE students.
This week we have been using the iPads and green screen to create short videos and reflect on the ease of using iMovie on the classroom.
