💚 Character Counts Week at Picolata Crossing Elementary School! 🐾
The Pumas are celebrating Character Counts Week while gearing up for their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Puma Power Course, this Friday! They've already reached their $35,000 goal, earning Principal Ms. Kolk a pie in the face from staff! If they hit $45,000, she'll get slimed, too!
On Tuesday, students celebrated the pillar of Caring with the theme "Caring Makes Our School Strong." Each grade level wore a different color to represent kindness, compassion and unity, while front office staff showed off all the pillar colors!
We love seeing #SJCSD schools demonstrate the importance of good character this week and every day throughout the year. Way to go, Pumas! You're PAWSOME! 🐾

St. Johns County School District has once again earned the designation of an Academically High-Performing School District for 2025–2026, making us one of just 18 districts in Florida to receive this recognition!
In addition, 27 of our schools have been named Schools of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education! This designation recognizes schools that demonstrate sustained academic achievement, ranking among the top 20% of Florida schools serving similar grade levels for at least two of the past three school years.
These recognitions reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, teachers, staff and school leaders, along with the continued support of our families and community.
Congratulations to our 27 Schools of Excellence! We are proud to celebrate this recognition and the students, educators and staff who make achievements like these possible.
