I don't know, but I feel like the original tweet (yes I said tweet) was a bit of a dig at lead singers and how they love to talk on the mic. I didn't see anything political or any dig at Metallica in it.

I haven’t had a mic on stage since 1992 when I moved to stage left, how can I preach to the fans at every show dude, come on. Literally do nothing but shut up and play my bass every show. I’m never thinking about politics on stage till someone else mentions it, jeez give me a break 😂
