Legacy media are not our allies. They are the mouthpiece of the ruling class.
And how many of them have spoken out against Israel’s genocide in Gaza and the direct targeting of Palestinian journalists?
You cannot give these people an inch.
Their smears won’t work this time.

🧡 Today a jury found Daniel, Margaret, Indigo and Ella guilty of conspiracy to commit a public nuisance after they were arrested on their way to Manchester Airport on 5th August.
🔥 Noah, 19, who was arrested later that day at his home in Birmingham, was acquitted.
⛓️ The 4 have not been granted bail, and will remain in prison until their sentencing on 23rd May, despite having already spent 6 months on remand.

We did a tour from Shama, on the Mediterranean at Lebanon's border with Palestine, for a twenty mile circuit and 90% of all buildings were destroyed. I was just stunned by the devastation of what plainly Israel intends to make uninhabitable.
Here I reflect on just one building.

History will not be kind to our Labour Govt. And I think neither will voters at the next GE.
This is such a stupid statement from Reeves. It is *exactly* the sort of environmentally ignorant attitude that has brought us to this point in our #ClimateCrisis.
"We are reducing the environmental requirements placed on developers when they pay into a nature restoration fund... they can focus on getting things built and stop worrying about the bats and the newts," Chancellor Rachel Reeves says

How do you say “we told you so” nicely, without screaming? Without upsetting the comfortable classes who told us we were wrong, or that we were over-dramatic, or scare-mongering, or plain mad? Who put some of the best people in the world in prison FOR BEING RIGHT? A thread 🧵1/12

Another one that hasn’t aged well.
Is he going for some kind of record?
Congratulations to the climate campaigners.
There is no more important challenge than the climate emergency. That is why I voted against Heathrow expansion.

A 78-year-old climate protester has had her prison term extended for being “unlawfully at large” when government contractors were unable to find the right-sized tag for her wrist, which would have allowed her to complete her sentence in the community.

Government whips brutally cut down the CAN Bill via ugly parliamentary chicanery, bullying Labour MPs who back the #CANBill and cynically talking it out. Their ‘commitments’ to climate and nature are skin deep. Let’s remember how they let us down. Let’s demand better.

Sentencing a doctor to a year in prison for standing against fossil fuels shows just how upside-down our world is. Dr. Patrick Hart acted out of a duty of care - as a doctor - and as a human being. Meanwhile, the real criminals - fossil fuel giants like Exxon, BP, Shell - remain free to continue destroying the planet and not just endangering but actually taking lives. And causing massive economic damage - witness the $320 billion global cost of extreme weather just reported for last year.

Anna Holland is a current political prisoner in the UK.
Anna was sentenced to 20 months after throwing soup at protective glass in front of a Van Gogh painting.
No damage to the painting occurred, but judge Hehir seemed to base the sentencing on theoretical damage.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The frame of the painting, a 17th Century antique, was damaged, with damage valued at £8,000.
The defendants could not be sure the screen would protect the painting, so intent was established.
Holland was convicted of criminal damage, therefore not a political prisoner.
