It’d be interesting if Nami’s origins were connected to the Man Marked by Flames, who may appear after the Elbaph arc.
Oda has introduced a princess as a heroine in each arc.

I think Nami’s origins have remained a mystery because they’re tied to the very core of the story. Revealing them too early could give readers too many clues, so it makes sense for Oda to save them for the final stretch of the story.

Hmm, yeah, the fact that Oda chose to call it that instead of using “Kingdom” makes me think he had something specific in mind. 🤔
As for its absence from the Reverie, I’m sure it’s because it was erased from the map.

I wanted to ask you, don't you think it's curious Oda authorized opla to call the island "The Sea King of the Great Oykot"? On the map Oykot is really close to the calm belt and curiously the kingdom hasn't been present at the Reverie.
Why, Oda… Kuma has done so much for the Straw Hats, and his daughter Bonney has the talent to lead the next generation… So why can’t she be the “11th Straw Hat”? 🥺🍕

Oda joined his school’s football club as a kid because of Captain Tsubasa. He kept playing until his first year of high school, when he quit to focus on manga.
He said his team experience later inspired him to portray the fun of being part of a team in his manga. ⚽

Yeah, maybe his kids know about One Piece. I would definitely lio to see more sports collaborations with One Piece! I wonder what Oda’s favorite sport is.
If the Man Marked by Flames is a survivor of the Oykot Kingdom and either a protector of the royal family of the “Great Kingdom” or a descendant of that royal bloodline, it would make sense for him to hold onto a Road Poneglyph to keep it out of the WG’s hands.

As you probably know, Nami’s nickname, “Cat Burglar,” comes from the Japanese expression 泥棒猫 (dorobō neko).
But Japan also has an old saying: 「猫が顔を洗うと雨が降る」, which means “When a cat washes its face, it will rain.”

Looking back now, perhaps it was simply too early to introduce the idea of secrets surrounding a major character.”

Did you know Eiichiro Oda once wrote an entirely different story for ONE PIECE FILM: STRONG WORLD—one that explored Nami’s mysterious origins?

He doesn’t seem to know ONE PIECE, but I’d love to see more collaborations with sports teams! ⚽️⚾️

It refers to that familiar gesture of cats rubbing their faces with their paws.
One explanation for this saying is that cats have sensitive whiskers that can pick up changes in wind and humidity.
