A lot of people have argued that the $100 Ultimate Edition of GTA 6 is the actual version Take-Two wanted to release, but cut out minor things to release an $80 version so as to avoid some of the backlash.
However, this begs the question:

It's crazy how times have changed. Ferrari once took legal action against Take-Two over its depiction of the Grotti Turismo in GTA San Andreas & GTA IV (Take-Two ultimately won).
Now, real-world car brands are actively jumping on the GTA 6 hype train, afraid to miss out!

BioWare had the double whammy of shit luck. On one end corporate nonsense was part of their downfall, the other end was activist game developers that ruined their future due to horrific sales & bad games.

I agree corporate schlock led to their downfall, but ignoring the pink elephant with rainbow colored hair in the room is equally tone deaf & anyone who ignores it is being ignorant on purpose
Maybe this Mass Effect game was a “return to form” but again they unfortunately had one of the worst RPG sequels ever ( VEILGUARD ) holding onto them like a ball & chain. And it dragged them under.
There’s a lesson here, but I don’t think the industry will learn from it

They didn't. In fact, tlou 2 sold way less than the first game, the last 2 LiS games sold miserably (even though I love them), Assassin's Creed was such a hit, Ubisoft had to sell itself to China to stay afloat.
DAI is kind of an outlier there, as it at the very least didn't shit on the lore like Veilguard did, and I think that last name is a Star Wars race.

Let's be honest with ourselves about what really happened.
Back in the 80's, 90's, and even into the beginning of the 00's, the industry was of the chuds, by the chuds, and for the chuds. I'm tempted to call it "normal", but in contemporary terms, that's basically what it was.
Then women decided men having their space couldn't be tolerated, and as always, rather than join and assimilate, they had to change the curtains, so to speak. And it's been a shit show of narcissism, politics, preening, virtue signaling, and general fuckery ever since.
