La relation entre le Canada et la Türkiye revêt une importance croissante pour nos intérêts économiques et nos responsabilités en tant qu’alliés de l’OTAN. À Ankara, je me suis jointe au premier ministre Carney et au président Erdoğan pour faire progresser notre coopération dans des domaines essentiels à la prospérité et à la sécurité à long terme de nos deux pays.
J’ai signé un accord sur le transport aérien afin de faciliter les déplacements et les échanges commerciaux, ainsi qu’un protocole d’entente sur la coopération en matière de défense. Ces accords feront progresser les priorités communes de notre Plan d’action pour le partenariat stratégique et renforceront notre capacité collective à répondre à l’évolution du contexte de sécurité.
