STEAM Middle School

Officer Martin is always greeting students and staff in the morning and keeping everyone safe. Rain or shine he has a good spirit!

Mrs. Vickery's art kids are doing amazing things and are very competitive in their shows, which is a huge testament to her dedication. And she consistently speaks up, supports her peers' concerns, and works to make sure their voices are heard.

Landon has never been anything but kind, hard working, & diligent. He loves his friends, but doesn't allow them to get him off task; instead, he steers them back on track. He genuinely cares about his work quality and will stop what he's doing to help others. Upstanding citizen!

We did chemical changes demonstrations, and this particular one is called screaming gummy bear. #safetyfirst

Savannah excels in her creativity and artwork, and she works really hard to balance her focus and efforts across a variety of subjects and interests. She can always be counted on to help others, do her best work, and receive feedback well.

Help STEAM Middle School fill our local pantry for the Harvest House and provide a toy to a child through Toys for Tots supporting the Salvation Army. Items can be dropped off in the drop off/pick up line.

BCHS visited with our 8th graders today. Learn more through a short presentation, Q&A session, and tour of BCHS and Hill College Higher Education Facility on Thursday. 8th graders can also fill out a form in Schoology if interested in receiving more information.

Polly went to black light math today and solved a math logic puzzle, tracked down the pets who ran away during trick or treating with ordered pairs, and worked on rounding decimals.

Check out the fun teen activities at @burlesonlibrary!!

Reminder for tomorrow!

Polly needed help with a word and was introduced to a dictionary! And then just checked out and listened to some tunes. And fun! Polly got a visit from M3GAN and his fave minion, Cowboy Stuart!

REACH Council stopped by yesterday to hang with the students to promote a drug free lifestyle for Red Ribbon Week.

Tomorrow is the last day to purchse dance tickets for $10 at lunch or online. Tickets at the door will be $15. steam.burlesonisd.net/event-…

The six weeks is coming and we have some fun ahead of us! Be sure all of your work is turned in so you can join us on Friday!

We are well taken care of, thanks to these awesome community businesses! Thank you Htea0 for donating gallons of tea and lemonade for our staff. And to 7Brew Alsbury for the coffee and energy (opening Nov 9).

Pumpkins are due in the library tomorrow. Bring them by to be entered into the contest - cozy blankets up for grabs!

Unfortunately, Polly picked the WORST day to visit because they were taking a District Assessment. Not exactly the fun-filled Honors experience he was promised. Fortunately, wobbly chairs for the win when the wiggles kick in! But, it seems like a great time with Nurse Mitchell.
