Yesterday evening, we were invited and attended the faces of change: Gala in support of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 58 by Unity One in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was a nice time and someone told us she saw us in Toronto and bought 2 t-shirts about a year ago.

Is this one of numerous examples of a corrupt system against Black people, especially when they retaliate or defend themselves from a threat or not?
Jamarian Byrd and Travis Roberts were hanging out in their Baker County neighborhood when a group of white males rolled up with a shotgun and a rifle. Devin Powers Jr. allegedly fired into the crowd where kids were playing outside, so Byrd and Roberts grabbed their own weapons and shot back. Powers died, and now the two Black men are facing first degree premeditated m*rder charges while a judge shut down their Stand Your Ground defense. The judge said they had every right to fire back until Powers started retreating, but he was still holding his shotgun when he got hit.

During a college campus tour where Charlie Kirk was discussing statistics related to gang violence, an outdoor debate was violently interrupted when a white male shooter targeted and killed him. This incident has been cited by commentators to argue that discussions surrounding racial violence often overlook historical and statistical data regarding violence perpetrated by white individuals globally.

There is no data that supports that we do but it keeps happening and they say we do it tp ourselves. It's the same story they say about missing and murdered indigenous people.

There are many more untold stories of this nature.
On April 4, 2015, 50-year-old Walter Scott was driving through North Charleston, South Carolina, when Officer Michael Slager pulled him over because of a malfunctioning brake light.
The beginning was captured on Slager’s dash camera.
It looked like an ordinary traffic stop.
Then Scott ran.
Slager chased him roughly 200 yards into a grassy area and tried to stop him with his Taser.
And somewhere nearby, 23-year-old Feidin Santana was simply walking to work at a barbershop.
Santana noticed the chase. Then he heard the distinctive clicking of a Taser and Scott yelling.
He ended the phone call he was on and began following them.
What Santana witnessed disturbed him enough that he pulled out his cellphone and started recording.
A chain-link fence separated Santana from much of what was happening. But his camera had a clear enough view.
And Officer Slager apparently had no idea he was being recorded.
Santana said that when he saw them, Slager appeared to have control of Scott.
According to Santana, Scott wasn’t attacking the officer. He was trying to escape the Taser.
Santana later said he never saw Scott take control of the weapon and use it against Slager.
Eventually, Scott managed to get up. Then he ran.
That’s when Santana’s camera captured the moment that would define this case.
Slager stopped pursuing him. He drew his handgun. And fired. Eight times.
Scott was nearly 15 feet away when the shooting began. By the eighth shot, he was nearly 40 feet away.
He never turned around.
Five bullets struck him, all entering from behind.
Walter Scott collapsed. He was unarmed.
But Santana didn’t stop recording. And that decision became incredibly important.
Seconds after firing, Slager radioed that shots had been fired and claimed Scott had taken his Taser.
But Santana’s camera was still running. The footage showed Slager approaching Scott and handcuffing him.
Then Slager walked back toward the location of the earlier struggle.
His Taser was lying on the ground. He picked it up, then returned toward Scott and dropped the Taser beside his body, walked away, then returned to retrieve it again.
Federal prosecutors would later describe Slager’s actions as an attempt to tamper with the crime scene by moving the Taser next to Scott.
And Slager’s account was already taking shape.
He claimed Scott had gotten control of his Taser and that Scott was coming toward him when he fired.
But the federal court would ultimately find that Scott never had control of the Taser, never attacked Slager and was running away when he was shot. And Slager still didn’t know that everything that happened was caught on camera by Santana.
Santana was terrified.
He understood what he had recorded, but handing a video implicating a police officer directly to police frightened him.
He actually considered deleting the footage and leaving Charleston altogether.
He briefly went to a police station but left after being asked to wait. Then he began hearing the official account of what had happened.
Scott had supposedly taken the officer’s Taser.
Slager had supposedly feared for his life.
Santana knew that wasn’t what he had witnessed.
So the following day, he returned to the area and eventually made contact with Walter Scott’s family.
At a vigil, Santana approached Scott’s brother, Anthony.
He told him he had something to show him. Then he played the video.
Walter’s family watched the final moments of his life on a stranger’s cellphone.
Santana later remembered how emotional they became.
The family gave the footage to their attorney, and it was also provided to state investigators. On Tuesday night, three days after the shooting, the recording was released to The Post and Courier and The New York Times.
And suddenly, millions of people could see what happened.
This is one of the most important details of the entire case.

An unsung hero.
𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐨 𝐖𝐚𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐭 𝐁𝐲 𝐆𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 | While running back into the Las Vegas shooting to save strangers — his courage made him a symbol of heroism.
October 1, 2017. Route 91 Harvest Festival. Las Vegas. Fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay.
Jonathan Smith, then about 30, a copy-machine repairman from Orange County, was there with family for his brother’s birthday.
He did not only run. Accounts from that week say he pushed people down, pulled them behind cars and barriers, and kept going back. Reporters put the number he helped near 30.
When he stood to move two girls who were still exposed, a round hit the left side of his neck. Another hit his arm. Collarbone cracked. Rib cracked. Lung bruised.
An off-duty San Diego officer, Tom McGrath, packed the wound and would not leave him. Smith later said that man saved his life. Surgeons left the fragment in. Too close to nerves. He still walks with it.
The hospital photo — towel on the shoulder, bandage on the neck, phone in his hands — is the picture that went around the world. Smith told reporters he did not need a cape.
He said anybody should have done it. He and McGrath met again on camera days later. That reunion is real.
The caption that says Smith went back the next morning to ID the dead is not something this desk found in the 2017 hospital interviews. Treat that line as unverified.
He was not the only person who ran toward people that night. He is one whose face the country actually saw. The shooting remains the deadliest modern mass killing in this country.
Fifty-eight died on the grounds that night; the official toll later counted more. Smith lived with metal near the spine and said the pain did not make him special.
This post is 2017. Not a new Las Vegas attack. A Black man who moved toward the lawn when the sound started, and a photograph that still has to carry his name so the night does not swallow it. #nationalists🇨🇩 #johnathansmith #sayhisname #hero #lasvegas

How can we ever forget when white supremacists' terrorism has never stopped, since the day they laid their eyes on us hundreds of years ago? They keep reminding us that they are actively hunting us down. Preying on their primary targets is what predators do and is always on their mind. But yet, they are never appropriately punished in order to deter them because they created, control and operate their crooked justice system. Look at how many hxxgings are surfacing, especially in Mississippi, and then law enforcement, the coroners office and the government keeps stating we are doing it to ourselves. They are complicit. The KKK not only infiltrated the police system years ago, they are in every facet of the system in order to make sure the outcomes yield in their favor every time.
