Together with @WestGatewaySTB we launch our rural mobility strategy to transform how we approach rural transport needs. Many rural communities in the #SouthWest lack access to everyday services, affordability and choice. We need to #TransformRuralTransport bit.ly/3QqZ8lj
🌉We are pleased to confirm funding for a new footbridge at Lostwithiel. 👍This will provide quicker and easier access across the railway and to the station for both passengers and residents. Full story ⬇️ networkrailmediacentre.co.uk…

👍 Coastguard's footbridge in Dawlish has reopened to the public. 🚶Walkers can now cross the bridge to reach Dawlish Warren along the sea wall. 🦺 The section of sea wall between Coastguards and Colonnade breakwaters remains closed while we continue our work there.

Plans are being drawn up by @SWRailTaskforce for more freight terminals in the South West to help reduce the number of lorries on our region's roads. It's been revealed after a question by cllr Rob Hannaford from @exeterlabour to @DevonCC More here: planetradio.co.uk/greatest-h…
This winter, we will be renewing around half a mile of track with brand new rails and sleepers along the Royal Mile just north of Totnes, the largest relay programme we have carried out in one winter to date.

👷 New benches were delivered to site today, ready for installation on the new sea wall between Dawlish Station and Coastguards breakwater. 🛤 The benches are in addition to the old sea wall stone which is being repurposed to create more seating along the promenade. @BAMNuttall

Calling all railway zealots in the urban regeneration community (surely that’s ALL of you)......
Today's @NRHAwd results have seen a lot of action on our feed, which has pushed us up to 8,957 followers. Can you help us reach 9,000 for Xmas by RT-ing and asking for new followers? Or even could we get to 10,000 before I retire at the end of March? ^AJS

🏗Last night, the first pieces of stone that were retained from the old wall were installed as part of the creation of new benches. 👷We will also pay tribute to the heritage of the area by adding an outline of the old boathouse to the new promenade, showing where it once stood.

👷 Concrete pours are ongoing behind the newly installed concrete blocks by Coastguards breakwater. 🏗 Meanwhile, there are just under 20 wave recurve units left to install. 2.5 metre bars are drilled through the recurve units into the piles to fix them into place. @BAMNuttall
