Only 42% of rural girls aged 15–19 in one NFHS-5 analysis exclusively used hygienic menstrual products.
In 179 of 707 districts, the figure was below 30%.
But product access is only one part of menstrual health.
Another NFHS-5 analysis found just 27.7% of young women had period products + an improved unshared toilet + water + soap together.
