The only thing that matters for India is to get to $10,000 GDP per capita by 2035.
Everything is downstream of this.
You want equality for women?
Good — let’s get to $10,000, so that women have an abundance of choices and market forces ensure they are treated fairly.
You want safer streets and cleaner cities?
Good — let’s get to $10,000, even if it comes at the cost of temporary damage to the environment.
You want good working conditions and work-life balance?
Good — let’s get to $10,000, so that employers have to fight over employees and the balance is tipped in favour of workers.
And so we must scratch, crawl, and climb our way to $10,000, with the understanding that this will incur temporary costs, that things will be messy and imperfect along the way, and that detractors will point at the messiness and imperfections and want to slow things down.
But we must ignore them.
We must understand that this is a war between two competing ideologies — one that wants growth and abundance, and one that wants timidity and apologises for the ambitions of our people.
Do you feel India should depend on other countries for processing the critical minerals that power our future?
I certainly don’t!
Lithium, nickel, cobalt…these are essential for EVs, batteries, electronics and defence. Yet, we remain heavily dependent on imports of refined materials.
To address this, the Cabinet has approved a scheme to change this.
Key highlights:
New critical mineral processing plants.
Capital subsidy to boost investment.
Greater domestic value addition.
Stronger supply chains.
The principle is clear...India must have capabilities to build technologies of the future!

and i don't think the author even realizes why
if you understand this properly, you can explain almost all political issues we see in the world today
you can't take care of your loved ones if you can't even take care of yourself. you can't build a functioning country if your loved ones aren't taken care of. and you certainly can't save the world if your own country is falling apart. responsibility has to expand outwards.
the problem with so much left-wing thinking is that it's backwards. it starts with the most noble sounding objective imaginable, "saving the world" or "climate change" or "poor migrants", and thinks about the most nice-sounding solution, without considering if the conditions required to achieve it even exist, and that's why so many apparently well-intentioned policies end up doing the exact opposite of what they were supposed to achieve.
they sound compassionate, but completely ignore incentives, tradeoffs, or second-order consequences
clean your own damn bedroom and put your house in order before trying to change the world
you will never be able to fix the world if you can't even get the order of your own responsibilities right

One of India's biggest problems is what I call "Innocence by virtue of identity"
You can't hold farmers accountable for all that stubble burning choking half the country, because, well, they're farmers. Annadata.
You can't call out violence at a protest because, well, they're protestors. Are you against right to protest?
You can't say some doctors would sell their souls if a pharma company offered them a cut, because they're doctors.
The list goes on and on, and it applies to pretty much every identity, whether deemed privileged or oppressed.
We're stuck in a loop of waving away responsibility because of identity. No wonder identity politics is the biggest thing in this country.
No matter which bucket you belong to, there are always enough people to tell you that you're being targeted for your identity, not your actions. And people also switch identities at convenience of course.
I do not see a way out.

The goal is to some how hold it together till BJP come back into power, pass the flaming pile of shit onto them, and then protest & block all the solutions.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has finally acknowledged on record that the Congress government’s guarantee schemes have led to unprecedented financial distress for Karnataka’s transport corporations - to the point where they are struggling even to cover fuel costs.
While this long-overdue reality check is welcome, the fallout is deeply concerning: the burden of these fiscal missteps will ultimately fall squarely on daily commuters through impending fare hikes.

I don’t think I’ve read such a rational analysis of the situation we’re in for a long time.

China is building a 60,000 MW dam on the Yarlung Tsangpo at Medog. India’s answer, the 11,200 MW Siang Upper Multipurpose Project, was first proposed in 1983 and declared a national project in 2008.
Last year or so, India finally made moves to get the project rolling.
On Friday night, a mob that called itself “Gen Z” set fire to the NHPC office and a police station in Pasighat, looted the homes of two MLAs and injured more than 40 police personnel. Arunachal holds about 40% of India’s hydropower potential. Its installed capacity is 2,115 MW.
Every project of national scale now has to get past veto points, most of it is just stalled out of motivated malice. From survey consent, social impact assessments, environmental clearances, litigation, local politics, and finally the violent street veto.
Really need to think if Democrazy as it is practised in India today has anything remotely useful to offer especially considering economic aspirations via @timesofindia
When I was in college, we had the library at the South West end and the workshops at the North East End.
Looking at the political discourse lately has reminded me that the East End was always full of joy and laughter while building innovative shit while the South end was always about what was wrong with the college and the city and how the solution was so obvious but the people incharge were dumbasses to not do it.

India's absolute GDP vs. per capita is a constant debate framing. Both are their own realities and quantity has its own quality.
There aren't many countries at $2800 per capita exploring moon and Mars, making complex weapon systems running world-leading payment rails, supply generic medicines to the world or become a services export powerhouse.
Supportive policy environment + absolute GDP scale + human capital talent create capabilities that per-capita rankings miss.
It is a long journey to upper middle income country status, but even with those frustrations, amazing things will keep happening simultaneously.

Anyone who still thinks Abhijeet Dipke actually respects the Indian Constitution needs a psychiatric evaluation.
Caleb is a patriot. Jean Drezes is a parasite.
I think what is actually needed is for Indian people to actually give a damn about their cities and fellow citizens.
Anybody using the "I pay taxes, I shouldn't have to do anything" excuse should go live in another country. India isn't developed, it's developing, so it needs patriots, not parasites. If this triggers you, it means you're part of the problem.

Books teach you how to price an option.
And not that the print you're pricing off is 40 minutes old, the spot has moved, and nobody's quoting that strike.
Theory assumes clean data. Practice is mostly figuring out which data to throw away.
No easy answers here...
Since you don't have bid/ask, I wouldn't try to build a full surface off 1-min OHLC. Stale prints and a moving underlying will give you garbage vols, especially in stocks.
For a 30-day constant IV for VRP, you don't need every minute or every strike. A few things that help:
1. **Pick a few snapshots a day.** Something like 10-15 which are reliable, and only use strikes that actually traded in that window. Ignore zero-volume and stale prices.
2. **Sync the underlying.** Pair each option print with the futures/spot price at the same minute it traded. A mismatch here is the biggest source of junk IV.
3. **Back out the synthetic forward from put-call parity.** Use a call and put at the same strike that traded close together, then price off that with Black-76. It saves you guessing dividends and borrow.
4. **Stay near ATM.** Use 2–4 strikes closest to the forward, weighted by volume/OI if you like. That's all VRP really needs.
5. **Interpolate in total variance.** Stocks are monthly expiries, so interpolate σ²T between near and next month to get your 30-day point.
6. **Sanity check!** Super important
Don't bother with the wings for this. If you ever do, use simple assumptions like sticky strike or sticky delta and just keep it arb-free.
Most importantly, remember what you're playing for. If you're not a market maker, you don't need pricing to the tick. Focus on broader levels and a transparent model you can understand and debug easily.
All the best!

Mr Fact-checker please fact-check your own facts.
There is no such scheme as “Buy one Get one free” scheme by Election Commission.
As per your post, the voter had submitted only two applications and he got 4 EPIC cards.
This statement is false.
The voter had submitted 4 applications.
If you want to dispute our facts then you post the reference numbers of two applications that you claim he had submitted and we will post the reference number of the remaining two.
The problem of generation of multiple EPICs on submission of multiple forms of an individual is a long standing one. We do deduplication through ECINET periodically. We are on path to achieving the objective of catching multiple forms submitted by an individual at the submission stage only. We will achieve our objective very soon.
Please do not incite people by making patently false statements about ECI and thereby trying to create disaffection among the citizens towards a Constitutional Body.
You are advised to rectify your mistake by amending or deleting your post after completing your own due diligence now that you have been informed by us about your wrong information.
Gems of UP SIR!
Several voters whose names were missing from the draft electoral roll (jan 6th) submitted Form 6 for inclusion. In some cases, two applications were submitted for the same person and the Election Commission went ahead and issued four voter IDs.
In plain words: One person applied twice. The EC gave them four voter IDs. 😎
Buy one get one free! 🫰🏼
There are several such cases. @ceoup @yadavakhilesh @RahulGandhi
