No matter how much you articulate the bullshit, it is still bullshit. We are Indians, not ‘South Asians’
Sorry, but the term south Asian actually makes a lot more sense than Indian. India is a national construct, composed of dozens of ethnic groups and linguistic groups many of those groups stretch across Nepal, Pakistan Bangladesh, etc.

The world is celebrating Diwali by bursting crackers. My dog is spending the night hiding under the bed, trembling in fear. Meanwhile, people with asthma are breathing polluted air, elderly people and babies are struggling with the noise, heart patients may experience distress, and birds and stray animals have nowhere to escape. At what point did our idea of celebration become so insensitive to the people and living beings around us? Your celebration shouldn’t have to come at the cost of someone else’s health, peace or well-being. And before anyone makes this about religion or communalism, I celebrate Diwali too. This isn’t about religion. It’s about basic civic sense and empathy.

India’s First-Ever Test Series Win Against Australia! #OnThisDay in 1979, India created history by securing their maiden Test series victory over Australia with a dominant innings and 100-run win in the sixth Test at Bombay. India piled up a formidable 458 in their first innings, powered by a magnificent 192-run opening partnership between Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan. Gavaskar and nightwatchman Syed Kirmani scored centuries, while Karsan Ghavri chipped in with a brisk 86. Australia struggled with the bat in both innings, managing only brief resistance as India's bowlers dominated proceedings. India sealed a historic series victory with a day to spare. Series Results: 1st Test - Drawn 2nd Test - Drawn 3rd Test - India won by 153 runs 4th Test - Drawn 5th Test - Drawn 6th Test - India won by an innings and 100 runs

Wasim Jaffer’s Record-Breaking Triple Century at Just 18! #OnThisDay in 1996, an 18-year-old Wasim Jaffer announced his arrival in spectacular fashion by smashing an unbeaten 314 for Mumbai against Saurashtra in a Ranji Trophy match in Rajkot. Remarkably, it was only his second first-class appearance, making the achievement even more extraordinary. Jaffer also shared a mammoth 457-run opening partnership with Sulakshan Kulkarni, laying the foundation for Mumbai's dominance. Jaffer became the youngest player to score a triple century so early in his first-class career, a record that remains a remarkable milestone in domestic cricket.

Ramayana is in the news so Audrey is “loosely translating” with her lurid takes again… Valmiki never wrote "harem pet" or "furniture cover." Just as he never said Sita calls Rama a “misogynist pig.” Here's what the text says. On the living deer, Aranya Kanda 3.43.16: अन्तःपुरविभूषार्थो मृग एष भविष्यति
antaḥpura-vibhūṣārtho mṛga eṣa bhaviṣyati "This deer will be an ornament of the inner palace." Not “harem.” Sita is talking about after the exile, when they're back in Ayodhya. The word is vibhūṣā, ornament. It's a marvel to bring home to Bharata and the queen mothers. It isn't a "pet," and it isn't a harem plaything. We also know that Rama never took another wife, let alone kept a harem. On the slain deer, 3.43.19: शष्पबृस्यां विनीतायामिच्छाम्यहमुपासितुम्
śaṣpa-bṛsyāṃ vinītāyām icchāmy aham upāsitum "I wish to sit on its golden skin, spread over a seat of tender grass." A bṛsī is an ascetic's grass seat. She's a forest-dweller in exile, picturing herself sitting beside Rama. That isn't upholstery or a "furniture cover." Rama even pictures the same scene himself a few verses later (3.43.34). So "harem pet" and "furniture cover" aren't translations. Each one picks the most lurid or trivial reading available so that Sita comes off as decadent and vain. The text doesn't support either. We've seen this before. In 2018 Truschke "loosely translated" Sita at the agnipariksha as calling Rama a "misogynist pig." Robert Goldman, the translator she cited, disowned it. She starts from a Sanskrit word, takes the most loaded English you can find, and presents it as scholarship. That's academic malpractice. And it’s a pattern.

South Africa’s Stunning Comeback at the WACA! #OnThisDay in 2016, South Africa scripted a remarkable comeback against Australia at the WACA in Perth. After falling behind early and losing Dale Steyn to injury, South Africa fought back brilliantly. Centuries from JP Duminy and Dean Elgar powered their second innings and helped set Australia a daunting target of 539 runs. Kagiso Rabada then delivered a fiery spell, claiming five wickets to dismantle Australia’s batting line-up and seal a memorable 177-run victory for South Africa. With this triumph, South Africa registered their third consecutive Test victory at the WACA, continuing their remarkable dominance at the venue!

This result made Pakistanis open their packed bags to home. They qualified for final and lost to England badly. Proves the point again don't rely on others create your own victory.
#OnThisDay in 2022, Roelof van der Merwe took this stunner to dismiss the in-form David Miller. South Africa have suffered several infamous World Cup exits, but being knocked out by the Netherlands in the T20 World Cup was arguably their lowest point.

Crazy Test Cricket 🏏
This was Ponting’s best chance to register a test win in India as an Australian Test Captain but he couldn’t. He never won a test in India as a captain. #OnThisDay in Mumbai, 2004 👇🏼 20 wickets fell on the third and final day after 18 had already tumbled on Day 2 - a Test match that turned into absolute chaos at the Wankhede Stadium.
