Gas Networks Ireland says there are “no health & safety impacts.”
Yet the proposed Clare LNG terminal would be an Upper-Tier Seveso major-hazard site.
We’re asking for independent risk assessment & full transparency.
Clare deserves facts.

the State is anchoring its flagship emergency energy project, in County Clare, to an environmental crime scene and a non-existent root of title.

Seems like New Fortress Energy is planning to save itself €22 million by not paying money owed if it does not get planning permission for its Shannon LNG US fracked gas import terminal. Not nice people really!

Seems like the Department of Energy in Ireland forgot to consider that its State-owned fracked gas LNG terminal, masquerading as a gas storage facility, supplying 13% of the country's gas, is a new gas entry point open to private companies under EU law!

Shannon LNG owners New Fortress Energy saw their shares plummet 23% this week. One more reason for @pleanala to refuse them planning permission for its US fracked gas import terminal in Ireland!
Coming from neutral Ireland, it is very concerning to see the EU-funded NGO 'Friends of the Earth Europe' (@foeeurope) campaigning for sanctions against Russia over the war in Ukraine, which has nothing to do with the Environmental campaign against ISDS!

Aughinish, where every effort is made to keep the toxic red mountain going higher and deeper and no effort made to keep the cleaner nearby Nestlé infant formula factory from closing. A race to the bottom for the Shannon Estuary sacrifice zone as seen here: youtube.com/watch?v=DxTt3G5G…
New Fortress Energy defaulting on a €7 million Security payment to Ireland's TSO for its controversial Shannon LNG €494 million 353 MW auction capacity contract seems like a material corporate event that should be filed at @SECGov by @new_fortress.

We expect Shannon LNG's terminal and power station to be refused planning permission. The energy regulator is acting prudently in not exposing the State to any financial risk for the company's €494 million auction capacity contract for a power station with no development consent!

The Minister for Energy's refusal to clarify to the Irish Planning Authorities the Government's position on the proposed private Shannon LNG US fracked gas terminal planning application should lead to its refusal by @anbordpleanala!

Govt policy makes clear it wants a State-owned LNG facility - it isn't clear what that means for private LNG projects. Coimisiún Pleanála says it needs to know before it decides fate of Shannon LNG share.google/scS8VibI2iOWTd8…
UK's System Operator @neso_energy confirmed "NTS compression does not currently support the transport of gas to the high-demand parts of Scotland from the southern zones or from the zone’s more southerly terminals at Teesside & Barrow" meaning no UK fracked gas comes to Ireland!
Replying to @SafetyBeforeLng @neso_energy
The predominant gas flow in Great Britain is north to south, with St. Fergus being a major entry point where North Sea gas enters the system, due to major industrial users and higher population areas in the south.

Great breaking news!
Shannon LNG power station planning permission PAUSED in the Irish High Court on grounds that 3 gigawatts of gas-fired stations already have planning consent, breaching the 2 gigawatts government policy target. Well done @FIEIRELAND

youtube.com/watch?v=PnWU1Ywd… @MarianHarkin gave this speech only last November against LNG, is she now going to vote with the government, to ram through a bill which will accelerate fracked gas coming into Ireland? This is a betrayal of all of us who come from Shale gas basins.
Financially distressed Shannon LNG owners @new_fortress, back in Irish Courts yet again, accused by previous owners-shelf company Sambolo-of not paying Tralee man Paddy Power & son John €23.7 million. Are these the type of people Ireland is depending on for its energy security?
