Delhi, police to also deploy over 10,000 security personnel across Delhi. 9. New CCTV cameras with Facial Recognition installed across New Delhi. 10. Delhi Police personnel visit Mosques to warn parents and elders that youth should be counselled to stay home and not venture around any protest march. 11. Massive appeal campaign organised by security personnel asking & appealing commoners from participating in protests to be held on 10th Oct. 12. The so called right wing activists appear with rods, lathis and weapons in the videos. 13. Several Kisan Unions appeal farmers to join the protests on 10th Oct. 14. Khap Panchayat representatives are appealing to people to both join or detest, from joining the protests on 10th Oct. 15. Massive social media campaign organised in support of CEC Gyanesh Kumar. He is being projected as saviour of Hindu Sanskriti. 16. Security detail,of CEC Gyanesh Kumar enhanced. He is going to be one of the most protected individuals in the country. *****Can’t recall such a divisive environment in our country over Election Commission in the past 3 decades of professional journalism. No government in india has ever made such massive security arrangements and imposed embargoes to quell a students protest, such as the one we see now. Not even when anti-reservation protests were at its peak in 1990. I hope the intelligence inputs are sound, if the govt anticipates large-scale violence, organised by protesting students. But if not, then this is a very serious matter, with major ramifications.

"Hit by the climate we did not warm, and hit again by the wars we did not start." Powerful words by Nepal PM @ShahBalen @PM_nepal_ in his debut @UN speech a month since the devastating Bhotekoshi Trishuli floods that have killed atleast 1400 people and 6000 are missing. Amid ongoing wars and boycott of speeches of leaders at the UNGA, Balen Shah's speech met with strong applause when he reminds the world about who is actually paying the heavy costs for the mindless bloodied war. "Inter-continental missiles arrive on time. Rifles and ammunition cross borders, clear every bottleneck, meet each deadline. But a peasant in Nepal cannot procure his fertilizer or fuel at market price at a time of need. We have built a world with flawless logistics for war and broken logistics for food." @SwarnimWagle @bikasrauniar @KanakManiDixit @EONIndia Full speech- gadebate.un.org/sites/defaul…

24-hr Cloud, rain and forecast

The Election Commission of India is under fire like never before. The SIR has struck 13 crore names off draft rolls, putting the EC at the centre of intense public debate over its role in deciding who gets to vote — and who doesn’t. HOWEVER, what nobody knew: through that same period, some of the sharpest questions were being asked from inside. Out today, after months of work. Our #ExpressInvestigation 🧵 (1/10)

I asked Administration officials how the United States will support our ally Nepal after a devastating natural disaster.Dozens of Americans and thousands of Nepalis are still missing. Officials apologized for the Administration’s slow response—then told me I was the “expert in those geographies.” 🤔 Whatever that means, House Democrats will keep pressing this Administration to do its job: help Americans abroad and stand with our allies. I’ll continue standing with the Nepali community in Queens.

Much of Indian TV covered the Nepal floods the way it covers most disasters: dramatising its own presence more than the story itself. In India, the coverage narrowed almost entirely to Indian tourists and pilgrims caught in the disaster. ✍️ @kalpana1947 newslaundry.com/2026/09/10/n…
